Documentation is an oft-overlooked yet crucial part of any open source project. Despite this being a well-known and widely accepted fact, there’s very little being done to address the lack of accessible and inclusive documentation in the open source ecosystem. Join Divya Mohan as she hosts Helen Liu on 5th June 2024 to discuss the challenges of creating and maintaining accessible documentation & its translations. We’ll be streaming live on YouTube, LinkedIn, X(formerly Twitter), and Twitch

The latest Harvester release is version 1.2.2, which comprises CVE and bug fixes important to the 1.2.x release candidacy. Version 1.2.2 is important for customers wishing to upgrade to 1.3.x and beyond.

k3s

During May, we focused on keeping you up-to-date with the latest version of Kubernetes. This is also why we released three patch releases:1.30.0, 1.30.1, 1.29.5, 1.28.10, 1.27.14, . We recommend you read the respective release notes to understand what you can expect from each patch.

NeuVector

We’re extremely excited to announce our 2024 roadmap exclusively for our newsletter subscribers!

NeuVector v5.3.3, comprising bug fixes and patches, will be released in early June 2024. In August 2024, our new minor version, v5.4, will be released, with DDoS protection and an overall tighter coupling with Rancher. This includes features like granular Rancher RBAC for custom NeuVector roles and being able to view the results of your node/pod scans in Rancher Manager. For our Rancher Prime offering, we will be offering members the capability to assess compliance based on templates including a new DISA-STIG report. Come December 2024, we aim to have tighter coupling introduced across the SUSE stack with the integration of Kubewarden, SLE Micro scanning and SBOM scanning in NeuVector.

openSUSE Tumbleweed

openSUSE now supports OpenVINO. The combination of OpenVINO and openSUSE makes AI more accessible. This achievement would not have been possible without our community's support and contributions. Read more about this integration here.?

openSUSE Weblate

As of May 14, 2024, the Weblate migration for openSUSE is complete. With the move to a hosted solution, contributors can expect a better experience. Read more about the migration efforts in our announcement here.

Rancher Desktop

We're excited to bring forth a new release of Rancher Desktop with support for the Spin CLI & Spinkube operator option. Also, good news for our Windows users! Network tunneling has been made available as default across the WSL distros. To learn more about this, check out our release notes.
