“Springing” into Action!
WorkHuman: A conference to be inspired by and motivated to change how humans work
We just got back from an exhilarating Workhuman Conference – our fourth since they began back in 2015 and our 2nd in the last two years. Austin, Texas was an incredible backdrop to a phenomenal lineup of speakers including Brené Brown , Issa Rae , Baratunde Thurston and Andrew McAfee to name a few.
In general, WorkHuman is a peer-to-peer recognition software that can support all levels of conversations between leadership and beyond. But we see it as one of the best and biggest HR conferences in the US (in our honest opinion anyway), that shares insights and ideas on trends and the future of work.? So it’s not shocking that the primary theme was AI-based, mirroring many of our thoughts that AI is not something to be feared, because people are not necessarily being replaced, rather they are being enhanced.
Bottom line: There is simply no denying that AI is the new industrial evolution.
So, what did we find most surprising?
So now that we know some of the trends and ideas coming hitting , we can start to build programs and frameworks to support organizations who want to pivot just as quickly as the world of work. If you’ve been seeing any of these things above, or struggling at navigating, we are happy to talk further about innovative programming that could in your organization.

Management Tip of The Week: Stop Brainstorming – Start Brainwriting!
In the traditional corporate setting, brainstorming has been the go-to method for generating ideas and solving problems. However, research suggests that this method might not be as effective as once thought. Enter "brainwriting," a concept popularized by organizational psychologist Adam Grant, which promises to enhance the way teams generate solutions.
Brainwriting shifts the focus from vocal idea generation (and let’s face it blank stares) to a quieter, more introspective process. Instead of shouting ideas in a group setting, participants write down their thoughts independently. This method not only reduces the pressure of speaking up in a crowded room but also curtails the dominance of louder voices that can stifle creativity. After individual ideation, team members then share their ideas in a round-robin format, ensuring all voices are heard equally. This approach not only diversifies the range of solutions but also encourages a deeper level of thought and consideration, making it highly effective for tackling complex problems in the office environment.
At Elevated, we've begun to experiment brainwriting with our People & Culture Committees, which we've formed alongside our clients to address various workplace issues. The impact has been enormous. By integrating brainwriting into our problem-solving processes, we have seen a significant increase in creative solutions and a higher level of engagement in ideation. This method has allowed us to tap into the diverse perspectives more effectively, leading to more thoughtful and inclusive decision-making – ensuring team members are truly part of the solution.

10 个月Talking about brainwriting, I'm amazed at how much more at ease I am when sharing ideas silently and anonymously initially. This approach definitely provides the think time that I need (and suits my C DISC profile). I'm absolutely loving it!
