Spring – A Time for Renewal
??????We’ve often heard springtime is synonymous with a fresh new start. The melting of the snow and songbirds represent the awaited change. The passing of a grey winter gives way to longer days and more sunlight as colored petals break through the cold, hard ground. In warmer climates, the signs of spring are more subtle, but the songbird and new blooms emerge, nevertheless.
?
Even though Florida's seasonal changes are subtle, we can still be inspired by the yellow tabula trees, spring breaks, popcorn, and crackerjack at the baseball stadiums. Since Covid no longer dominates our freedom, restaurants, sports, and social gatherings are teeming with new life.
?
Despite last year’s crises and setbacks, the circle of life continues.

A Time for Personal Growth
Spring can represent a whole lot more than external happenings. It can also be a time to embrace new growth and new love from within. Buds open and bloom into flowers, so can we open up to new things.
?
Unseen to the human eye, there’s always a lot going on underneath the earth's surface. The same is true in our unconscious minds. Some thoughts tell us to stay the same; others inspire us to do better things. Nevertheless, we can still be receptive to new ideas that can germinate and blossom when put into action.
?
Is there something you’ve been inspired to do but haven’t yet made the time for? Now could be the moment that your inspiration can struggle through the dense surface of resistance and move toward the sunlight. Nothing can happen without taking action. Now is the best time to put thought into action.

A Time for New Love
Spring is also a time to be more conscious of sharing and receiving love. Recently, I heard a motivational speaker say that the happiest people are those who do for others. Rather than waiting for something to happen (receive), they find joy in being of service. This doesn’t mean that we need to do all the work. Just as flowers need sunlight and rain, humans need emotional nourishment from one another. But by giving back, we are tapping into our inner source of love that makes us feel alive. Our smile is symbolic of the blooming flower of a well-nourished soul.
This Spring is also a time to learn to love yourself. Have you been pushing too hard? Too critical of yourself? Unable to forgive yourself for being human? Only focus on the negative? Are you too busy to eat healthy and exercise? If so, now is the time to learn self-love.

Take Time to See the Flowers
Love is all around us, in beauty, nature, and one another. We can be mindful of all the good instead of the drumroll of an obsessive negative mind. It’s so easy to take everything for granted.
?
Yet, there’s much to be appreciated. We can align with the flow of nature and get connected. Family members need our attention and love, whether we think so or not. Our careers need fresh new ideas. Most important, you need to nourish your soul. So, look around you and give thanks for whatever you see. The pen on your desk, the window on the wall, and the clothes in your closet – are all there to improve your life. How often do you feel grateful for the comforts all around you?
?
Do you want to have a spiritual awakening? You don’t have to sit in silence for days, isolate yourself on a mountaintop, or become a Guru. Try looking at a newly budded flower for about ten minutes. Or go outside and listen to the music of nature – songbirds, breezes rustling through leaves, and katydids. Next time you go for a walk, try seeing what you usually pass by unnoticed. Make eye contact with other human beings and offer a smile instead of a critical analysis.
?
Let this upcoming Spring represent more to you than just another changing season. Allow it to connect you to new light and gratitude for all you are and have. You can be the reason for change this spring season. There is no better time to make a fresh start.
