Spring Has Sprung!

On Groundhog Day, Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow and predicted an early spring. This famous, furry rodent has a mixed track record (join the crowd). Personally, I take more stock in what's happening here on the farm in Georgia. The chickens are laying eggs again and tiny, pure white snowdrops have popped up in the garden. So, mercifully, spring is indeed early this year!

Spring is always a super busy time for us. This one marks a very special anniversary: 25 years ago, in May of 1999, we held our first event in New York at The Lotus Club. "Yes", I feel old! I never imagined that what started out as an experiment would have a 25 year run! Since inception, we've hosted 84 events in the U.S. and abroad. I've had the opportunity to meet and learn from so many incredible people in this industry! I'm grateful to everyone who has contributed to our success. From here, there is only one place to go - forward!

This year, we have 2 events scheduled a month apart: Palm Beach on April 17th and Dallas on May 15th. Thank God for an extra day of prep due to leap year! Investor invitations to Palm Beach will go out today and Dallas invites will be out by month-end. We have been interviewing managers interested in speaking for a few weeks now. In my initial conversations with investors, I'm hearing that they want to see CTA's and global macro managers. I'm sure there's much more to the story, including demand for anything uncorrelated. It doesn't take rocket scientist to know that it's likely to be a rocky year: the market keeps hitting new highs, speculation abounds concerning Fed rate cuts and inflation, it's an election year that's shaping up to be pretty scary and, oh yeah, the world is on fire!
