Spring has Sprung for the ISSA Hygieia Network

Throughout my entire career, I've always been incredibly passionate about empowering women in business and standing up against gender discrimination. When I co-founded the ISSA Hygieia Network (IHN), a non-profit association dedicated to the advancement and retention of women within the cleaning industry, my passion turned into a reality. Over the years, IHN has flourished in ways beyond my wildest dreams, now providing ongoing education, networking opportunities, professional development tools and much more for industry women. And this spring, I’m beyond thrilled to announce that IHN has blossomed even more with the addition of our new Advisory Board.

Made up of several industry professionals, and women who are dedicated to helping other women succeed in their careers, the IHN Advisory Board will help further our mission at rapid speed. The Advisory Board will have the unique opportunity to put their unique skills and ideas to work as the organization grows.

The IHN Advisory Board will be led by IHN’s newest Council woman, Kim Price of Georgia-Pacific. The Advisory Board includes seven extraordinarily talented women, including Tina Busch, VP of Diversity & Inclusion, Kimberly Clark; Elizabeth Hawver, Business Strategy and Competitive Intelligence Director, Essity; Paige Horn, CEO, Dixie Paper Company Inc.; Sally Schopmeyer, President, Maintenance Inc.; Katie Snyder, VP of Human Resources, Network Distribution; Christine Wickes, VP of Marketing and Communications, C&W Services; and Cindy Williams, VP of Sales and Marketing, The Budd Group.

One of the first initiatives the Advisory Board will lead is our new mentoring program. Having been both a mentee and a mentor, I understand the many benefits that come with mentorship, from developing strengths to overcoming weaknesses to offering greater visibility and recognition within the workplace and beyond. The Advisory Board will help us create and establish a strong mentoring program that will focus on leadership, inclusiveness and career advancement. The magic of mentoring is in the details, and I know that with the help of the Advisory Board, Council and continuing support from Hygieia's members and sponsors, IHN will be able to help hundreds and thousands of women accomplish their goals.

As we kick off this new development, I'm humbled to look back and see just how far IHN has come in the last three years. I would like to not only welcome our new Advisory Board members but thank them for their endless support and effort toward IHN.

Stay tuned for more exciting announcements from IHN, and make sure to sign up to become a mentor or mentee for our new mentoring program!
