?? Spring into Fresh Art and Illustration Samples! ??

Have kids been on spring break where you are yet?

Here in Henry County, Georgia, we just wrapped up Spring Break week and we're back to the daily grind... and it's a little unbelievable that Josh and I have a kid that will be a middle schooler next year!

My plans to spend the week in a gloriously lazy fashion with our kids?(getting up at noon, eating ice cream for lunch, and making lists of three things) were happily interrupted by an opportunity to paint a mural for a brand new BBQ restaurant!

I'm so glad?Buckalew's on Main?in Milner, GA got in touch, because what I really needed more than being lazy last week was to get some beautiful country driving in, along with hours of super fun hand-lettering and barbeque themed icons!

And you guys?know. I love to feature tidbits of my real life in my artwork.

If you knew us back in our Long Beach, California days, you no doubt remember our first two chickens, Martha Stewart and Paula Deen (those dirty birds!). Paula Deen ended up being a rooster, so we renamed him Paul A. Deen and rehomed the pair to a gal in Norco, and his memory lives on as part of the mural at Buckalew's on Main.?

I've been hard at work uploading my full catalog of?art available for licensing to my Art Licensing Portfolio, and as I've been poring over some older pieces, fresh color palettes have really made me love them even more. I could see this as a fabric pattern for swim, it'd be great as a pattern on a chair, and man it'd be a cool funky coffee cup!
