Spring Cleaning & Your Assessments

Spring Cleaning & Your Assessments

The Spring represents new life, growth and freshness but it also represents the need to work, purge and gut areas that were neglected in previous seasons.

During this season our kids clean out their closets and get rid of items that no longer fit. My husband cleans out his garage and moves the snow blower to make room for our bikes. I clean out hall closets and the kitchen to make room for fresh and healthy foods that we enjoy locally during this time of year.

Although its hard work…spring cleaning helps me to “breathe” a little easier…everything gets organized and accounted for. It gives me a better idea of who needs what for the months ahead. We make good use of what we have and recycle/donate the items that we no longer need.

Spring cleaning doesn’t only have to benefit our personal closets and storage areas; it can also benefit our work spaces. When is the last time that you did some spring cleaning in your assessment closet? Here are three things to consider when reviewing your assessments:

1.      Check for updated products. How often do you check your assessment inventory to see if there is a revised or updated version available? Keep yourself current when it comes to the tests that you use. It benefits you and your clients. Make a list of what you have and let us help you review it for updates!

2.      Know your options. Some professionals still use paper/pencil administration and scoring methods when there are alternative methods. Many assessments now offer software and/or online versions. These versions are designed for accuracy and to help you save time and money. We can advise you in this area and we can also offer you a free online trial for some of our assessments.

3.      Do you have any gaps? Are there areas of testing that you do not have an assessment for? Are you notified when new products are being released? We are constantly revising and releasing products in new areas. Check with us to see if you have any gaps in your inventory.

MHS has a team of consultants that can help you determine what has been revised, what assessment formats are available and if you are missing out on an area of assessment. Here is a link to our website that will provide you with the consultant for your area: https://www.mhs.com/about/find-consultant.

Connect with us on social media and join our mailing lists to keep updated. We are constantly learning and growing and we hope that our customers will join us on this journey.
