Spring Break in Cancún

For spring break during our senior year, my friend group and I decided to go all out. In years past, we have traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but given that it was our last spring break before entering the harsh realities of the real world, we wanted to go out with a bang. We did just that by traveling to Cancún.

We left on Monday afternoon after celebrating the UNC win versus Duke for the second time this season and returned on Saturday evening. This was my first time visiting Mexico, and I was simply awed by its crystal clear ocean water and perfectly warm temperatures that made six days fly by.

We stayed in a resort called Fiesta Americana Villas Cancún. While this resort was a bit more family oriented than we would’ve liked, its location was amazing for the price we paid, as it was only about an 8-minute walk to the main strip in the hotel zone.

Fiesta Americana Villas has a large pool with a swim-up bar. There are tiki huts on the beach with tons of lounge chairs for all your sun tanning desires. The views from our resort were beautiful.
