Our Story in a Nutshell
Tacton was the result of decades-long work by seven researchers working on the practical application of Expert Systems at the Swedish Institute of Computer Science . Its founders created a constraints-based configurator that could be adapted and transferred to complex products, making it easier to update and maintain.
This caught the attention of 爱立信 , which requested Tacton's first proof-of-concept (POC), leading to Tacton's unique, AI-powered configuration engine. Tacton focused on complex manufacturing product configuration and gained an advantage over other configurators by working alongside leading manufacturers.
Its early successes and specialization gave Tacton the confidence to become the go-to product configurator for manufacturers. Tacton's growth happened organically, without venture capital, and expanded to regional headquarters in Karlsruhe, Chicago, and Tokyo.
Throughout turbulent market conditions, Tacton's technology helped manufacturers reduce costs and improve operational efficiency, transforming the way the manufacturing industry did business. Tacton continues to maintain its competitive advantage today.
Today, Tacton is recognized as the trusted CPQ provider for complex manufacturing. Our trusted configurator is used around the world by global manufacturers, that are seeking to modernize the way they sell their products and services.
