Spreading the Wall of Love

It took a village to gather to develop the idea that would spread the wall to patients at the Southern California Hospital in Van Nuys. They said it was a year unfolding. Hilary Clinton said it takes a village to raise a child . Well, it takes a whole lot more to assemble the beautiful mastery that unfolded at Southern California Hospital at Van Nuys. It began with Director of Rehabilitation, Laura DiFusco whose job is to find those creative projects that build the heart the spirit. They uplift the mind and take them out of the doldrums of despair to see the beauty that awaits them on the other side.

Laura is a dynamic go getter that has the innate ability to forge relationships and networks to get what she wants and more. She found a creative spirit just 23 years ago name Lauren Gregorio whose a Graphic Designer at Disney Live Ent. She was previously employed by Nickelodeon , Netflix, Sydance and and WIA Mentee @ibellodionna Vis Dev d Props and backgrounds.?You can find her incredible drawing at www.larurengregorio .com . Lauren Gregorio attended Woodbury University where one of her classmates, Aspen Loveavitt, head of the Poetry Club there and currently graphic artist described her ambition, drive, determination and the uncanny persistence to stop long after others called it a day. He said, "you knew she was going places."

Aspen also shared the wonderful training they got from Woodbury with classes limited to 11 people. He now works at Universal in the animation department. They had experts in their field like the famous Poet Mike Sonksen a 3rd generation La Native. Mike combines is interest as professor, journalist, and Woodbury Professor. He takes his vast experience as write, speaker to inspire his students as first year experience.

?Aspen also explained the competition in the world of animators. He shared the honest fact if you didn’t land a position in your first year out of school. It was not going to happen.?It surely speaks loudly of the time you spend in school is not a waste a time. His work can be seen @aspenalevittart on Instagram

His friend and partner Sarena V. Share how she tackled all the unknown as friends to conquer. If she couldn’t figure out, she figured out a way. She assumed the leadership roll of Aspen upon his departure and shared her love of drawing the life of independent and enjoying the summer with kids. I would grant her road to success as definite huge possibility. That one skill will take her miles. She expanded on Nickelodeon included community outreach as mandatory to their success. We spoke on how it helps heal the mind.

Cat Lim is a person who is psychology major who graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University. She works at Nickelodeon in the HR & Studio Learning and Development Intern. She helps develop talent. and finds way to teach skills of hand eye coordination to working the magic of the mind. She works to booster the self-confidence. She has the unique way of seeing how the mind open different capacities of the mind whether it is painting, drawing or sculpture activated the creative expressions. Her core value is to help others tap into their creative side.

Cat does that by developing the sensory skills which also serves to release emotions. Art she describes as “the universal language to regulate your emotions”. You can see her love of foods @delightfooderie.

A huge thanks to CA State Northridge who sent the largest group of volunteers from various divisions in the art stemming from the Mike Curb College of Arts Media and Communication. One CSUN student, Anthony Hernandez, has future ambition set on animation. His participation in the sculpture was drawing the two characters and the birds. He described the experience like none other. He said, it provides him the opportunity to expand his visualization of how to unify concept. His work can be seen @Listen2_your.art.

Rosalyn Kahn, CSUN Alum 1994 as host of Chow Entertainment, Living your Best Life, KGNT 26.8 Las Vegas, Fil-Am TV, Pinoy Tv and #wohaFinalist, Toastmasters International, DTM TEDx Best Selling Artist and Modern Impressionist painting explained it was great to see al the major university combining their forces with leaders in the animation, storyboard world . All unified with the simple mission to improve mental illness and wellbeing. The mural showcased the bath a patient endured and it us up to all of us to keep an open eye to be the spirit that could save another’s life.

As you see the outcome of this mural, as the patients came out on their break to see the outcome, they all clapped their hands in appreciation. The true sign the mission that began was complete.
