Spread some L??ve this Holiday Season

We are at the end of Hanukkah, Christmas is in less than two weeks, and the year-end appeals (direct mail and email campaigns) are happening. The pace can be frenetic, but it doesn’t have to be. I offer you a simple, effective word, “no.” Ok, not on the marketing efforts, but we can scale back a bit in our personal lives. Maybe (gasp) don’t get the holiday cards out this year, or don’t volunteer to make 5-dozens cookies for a swap unless it brings you joy. The point is, as adults, time speeds up at the end of the year, and we can deliberately slow down and rest (it helps us be more patient, too). So, my wish for you is to have a season filled with love. We need more love in the world and can start by being kind to the people around us.

What’s Cookin’

Chocolate is a way to spread love this season, and you can start with this simple mug cake for one. Or, here is my download for the bourbon balls I shared last year. It’s equally good with rum and there is non-alcohol option, too. I am making 5-dozen of this easy, no-bake option for gifting and a cookie swap, (it does bring me joy).?

As for?J’s Small Batch, I will be turning various herbal oils into salves, balms, and butters for the new year. If you want a list of items, email me back. One I am currently testing is a lotion bar with sunflower oil, shea and cacao butters, that smells of chai with fresh ginger, cinnamon, clove, and cardamom. It is a delightful, warming winter blend.
