What are you most proud of about being a working Mom?

As a parent, nothing brings me more joy than seeing my children grow and develop into thoughtful, independent individuals. When they come to me to share what they've learned at school, talk about their friends or handle situations on their own using the values and skills I've instilled in them, I can't help but feel proud. My kids know that I'm passionate about my job and that I strive to help people and make them feel good. Being a positive role model for my children is something that inspires me every day.

What changes in the industry do you hope to see to support working parents?

As a team, we understand the importance of maintaining a work-life balance. Therefore, we have agreed not to send texts or expect email responses after work hours for non-emergency issues. During evening meals, I make a point to disconnect from my phone and email so that I can fully engage in meaningful conversations with my children. We all need some time to disconnect from work and connect with our loved ones, and I believe it's essential to prioritize these moments.

What solutions or practices have you found most effective in overcoming these challenges?

"Mom guilt" can be a real struggle, especially when there are school programs or awards ceremonies that coincide with a busy work schedule. However, I've learned the importance of setting boundaries and asking for help with coverage when needed. By doing so, I can ensure that I am present for important events.?

What advice do you wish you had received as a new mom returning to the workforce after leave to help you integrate more smoothly and inclusively?

I'm excited to share that we have 6 new moms or moms-to-be in OKC! Here is my advice: be sure to cherish this time, even if it can be overwhelming at times. It's natural to feel that way, and it's okay to ask for help!? Remember that you have someone special who is looking up to you. So, do what makes you happy and enjoy being a mom!

How do you promote transparency and challenge societal norms to support working parents (and yourself) in openly communicating about expected and?unexpected family events?

Communication is key, and setting boundaries. I?understand that my team members are not just employees but human beings with families and responsibilities outside of work. That's why I always prioritize their well-being and support them in any way I can. Whether it's a personal emergency or a family commitment, I am always ready to lend a helping hand and cover their shift at the clinic. I believe that taking care of one's family should always come first, and I will do everything in my power to ensure my team has the necessary support and flexibility to manage both their personal and professional lives.?

What are ways you invest in your health and wellbeing?

Self-care is important to me! I love to go for walks, pamper myself with a pedicure, or indulge in a good book.

What kind of support do you find most helpful from the workplace and/or your manager?

I strongly believe that work-life balance is essential, and I feel fortunate to have the unwavering support from Sono Bello and my leader. Their compassion and understanding have given me the confidence to maintain a healthy and fulfilling work-life balance.
