Ontario Centre Investing $8.2M to Fast Track 13 Projects
The Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) https://www.oc-innovations.ca via the Ontario government, is fast tracking digital health innovations projects through their "Innovating Digital Health Solutions" (IDHS) program. This program is going to be investing $8.2 million across 13 Fast Track approved projects designed to revolutionize healthcare delivery across the province.
Approved Fast Track Projects Include:
1) Ai-Enhanced Emergency Care: University Health Network with Hero AI are integrating advanced AI technologies to monitor high risk patients, optimize resource allocations, and improve communication in emergency departments.
2) Wound Care Assessment: William Osler Health System with Swift Medical are implementing cutting-edge wound care technology for more accurate wound assessments, improved documentation, and patient care.
3) Streamlined Navigation: Partners Community Health with Trillium Health Partners and Caredove, are streamlining a centralized intake and referral system to reduce emergency department visits for non-urgent issues and improve healthcare access.
4) Mental Health Triage: Mental Health Triage: Kingston Health Sciences Centre with OPTT Inc. are implementing an innovative digital mental health approach. The approach combines AI-assisted triage, online psychotherapy programs, and AI symptom monitoring to improve access to mental healthcare.
5) Enhanced Healthcare Communications: Brightshores Health System with Langs, Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance, Guelph Family Health Team and Hypercare are facilitating secure communication among healthcare professionals.

6) Breast Cancer Care: New York General Hospital with Myjourney are improving breast cancer treatment, survivorship care, and breast health management, by providing personalized educational resources and streamlined information sharing between patients and their clinical teams.
7) Smart Cardiac Emergency Care: Ottawa Heart Institute with Badal.io are implementing a secure mobile-enabled platform designed to streamline communications between emergency doctors and cardiologists
8) Geospatial Health Analysis: Southlake Regional Health Centre with ESPR Canada, and Carleton University are improving health system planning by using geospatial visualization tools to identify local health needs and gaps in service accessibility.
(9) Measurement-Based Mental Healthcare: Brightshores Health System with Greenspace Mental Health are implementing measurement-based care for mental health and addiction services
10) Integrated Patient Records: Urgent Care Collaborative Inc. with Health Espresso, are implementing a patient-centric platform to enable coordinated care delivery, data collection, and system navigation.
11) Improving the Patient Experience: Queens Square Family Health team with Chime Technology, and Queen Square Doctors, are looking to improve scheduling for clinical staff, clinic check-ins, and how to manage clinical exam rooms and other fixed resources more efficiently.
12) Timely Stroke Treatment in Northern Ontario: Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and Arora Constellations are providing access to treatment for patients with a suspected acute stroke in Northwestern Ontario
13) Psychometric Mental Health Screening: Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre with Continicare to effectively triage, evaluate, and measure patients' mental health.
