In the Spotlight: Kingsun Lighten Up KK100 Tower

KK100 Tower locates in Luohu, Shenzhen. A world-class landmark and the tallest building invested and constructed by Chinese private real estate companies. Its 441.8 meters in height and 100 floors created many Chinese and world records and has won many world-class awards. Relying on its strong LED lighting solution capabilities, Kingsun Optoelectronics successfully won the bid and completed the KK100 facade and interior lightings.

Kingsun Optoelectronic Co., Ltd. undertook all the lighting design including KK100 underground parking lot, indoor commercial, office, outdoor landscape lighting, and became the first domestic showcase of large-scale application of green LED lighting from the interior to the exterior lighting. When the lights are on at night, the LED lights on the facade wall of KK100 will create a water flow, which looks like a waterfall pouring top down.

KK100 is a high-end intelligent landmark building with complete supporting facilities, including offices, hotels, shopping malls, and underground parking lots. As we all know, lighting design should be people-oriented, utilize the essential elements of light and colour, and then combine the spaces, the functional requirements of various places, and match light and dark tones, etc. Delicately design and arrange to provide the citizens with a safe, bright and comfortable interior environment.

For example, an underground parking lot is a special place with closed, depressed and psychologically disturbing factors. Therefore, 24-hour lighting improves the relaxed atmosphere of the underground space, creates an open effect, and reduces the depression caused by the enclosed areas. It skilful adopted include appropriate lighting illuminance, lighting colour temperature, wall lighting and ceiling lighting, etc. Commercial lighting should meet functional needs and reflect decoration, while the primary purpose of office lighting design is to create a harmonious office area. And a relaxed and pleasant office environment can improve work efficiency tremendously.

The range of products involved in the project is vast, specifically including LED outdoor lighting, LED indoor lighting, LED landscape lighting and other products. Kingsun utilized 75,378 lamps, including colour-changing diode lamps, T10 LED energy-saving tubes, T8 LED energy-saving batons, LED UFO lights, LED downlights, and LED floodlights made full use of the essential elements of light and colour. And then combining the size of the space, the functional requirements of various places, the matching of light and dark tones and other conditions.

This project actively responded to the national call for energy conservation and emission reduction in the design process. The large-scale application of LED lamps achieved a goal of 50% energy saving compared with traditional lights. It became the first whole building in China to apply many green, and environmental friendly LED lightings inside out. In a classic case, the KK100 Tower has also become the country's first all-led-lit commercial complex in China.
