Spotlight on ISMers: Meet Warren Blundell

What date did you join ISM, and in what role??

I joined ISM in the fall of 1997 as a deskside/help desk analyst. My initial placement was at a local steel producer's site for a couple of years where I did everything from help desk, deskside, to server support and finally Y2K application testing.?

What is your current role at ISM??

I'm currently a cloud solution architect in the Delivery Architecture team. I spend my time between several clients creating solutions, solving problems and consulting on new technologies.?

What opportunities for growth have you experienced at ISM??

Over the years I've had many opportunities at ISM. Within a few years of starting with ISM, I was able to achieve my Microsoft MCSE and work my way up to the Windows server team. From there I moved over to the Architecture team and I've an Architect for the past 13 years.? I've had great experiences working with many customers across Saskatchewan and Canada.?

What do you like (best) about working at ISM??

I like that there is always a new challenge ahead. The IT industry changes so frequently I need to constantly upgrade my skills and adapt to new technologies and solutions that our customers are looking for.?

What do you enjoy doing outside of work??

I enjoy spending time with my wife, our two children and their significant others as well as all the puppers in the family. In the summer we can be found at Katepwa lake most weekends. My wife and I very much enjoy our traveling. We have another trip planned to southeast Asia. I'm also an avid collector of vintage sports cards and sports memorabilia. I have some NHL hockey collectables that are over 110 years old.?
