Spotlight on ISMers: Meet Steve Neish

When did you join ISM, and in what role?

?I joined ISM as a contractor in June of 2018 on a 2-week contract to help design a mobility solution for a project that ISM was working on with the University of Regina.

What is your current role at ISM?

?I am currently a Business Development Executive for ISM responsible for growing our business in Western Canada.? I’ve had the opportunity to work with a range of our customers helping support and develop several solutions that have helped them achieve their business goals.

What opportunities for growth have you experienced at ISM?

During my 6 years at ISM I’ve had 5 different roles, 3 of which I spent as a contractor filling in gaps to help support our customers.? In 2021 I joined ISM as an employee and spent 3 years as a DPE leading our relationship with several key accounts. At the beginning of this year, I joined our Business Development team.?

What do you like best about working at ISM?

?There is a lot that I like about working at ISM.? ISM has supported my career growth in the organization and has let me take on challenging roles which has really helped me push my boundaries.? Most importantly I feel heard at ISM, and this goes beyond putting in a comment during our town halls.? I’ve had the opportunity to voice my opinion with our executive leadership and have had the approval to take on some ideas (and people) that seemed risky at the time.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

?I have a young family with a 3-year-old son and another baby boy on the way.? Beyond soccer on the weekends and learning to ride a bike, we have recently spent some time modifying a power wheels car and I’m not sure if my son or I like it more.? When I do get some time to myself, I can be found tending to my lawn, planning our next home renovation project or riding my motorcycle.
