"My fascination with finding innovative solutions is what drew me to Data Science in the first place.”?

Sanjay’s journey into the world of technology and the banking and finance sectors began in 2004 with HSBC, where he dived into data engineering within the banking domain. During his time there, he built a strong foundation in banking and finance?domains, strengthening his expertise and making significant contributions to the industry.?

Around 2010, the Big Data analytics trend was taking off, and given the scale of data at HSBC, Sanjay started working with Big Data tools.??

This shift impacted Sanjay’s career significantly.?

“It was a game-changer. Learning powerful Big Data tools such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, HBase, Apache Hive, Cassandra, and Presto opened new opportunities for me. Also, earning a certification in Data Science deepened my expertise in AI, Machine Learning, and Big Data, improved?my technical skills, allowing me to work?on analytics and advanced data science projects.”?

Tackling Project Costing, Timesheets and Salesforce: Lessons from Cognizant?

After his time at HSBC, Sanjay joined Cognizant, where he worked until 2019 as the Technology Architect for the Compass ESA project, overseeing multiple projects, ensuring adherence to relevant standards, and driving continuous process improvements. His work spanned key modules including Project Costing, Timesheets, Contracts, Billing, Receivables, Budgets, and Integration with Salesforce.??

“One of my key responsibilities was managing the Cognizant Project Costing and Timesheet modules, ensuring uninterrupted access for associates worldwide to submit their timesheets. Additionally, I led the integration of Salesforce with the company’s enterprise-level data warehouse, where I had the opportunity to apply Data Science and AI/ML concepts.”?

Changing Lives with Cutting-Edge Technology??

After Cognizant, Sanjay joined NutaNXT as a Project Manager, where he led a pioneering digital product engineering team focused on delivering high-velocity, and customized intelligent products and solutions for the IoT and digital ecosystem. He used AI/ML, data analytics, and cloud technologies to design digital experiences that truly transformed the way people interacted and engaged.?

“One project I am particularly proud of is the “Cognitive System for IoT-based Product Authentication”, a low-cost, innovative AI/ML platform that instantly tests the authentication and quality of various products, including food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals, using the IoT ecosystem. The project won the prestigious 'Start Up' award at World Food India, presented by Honorable President of India, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind.”?

Sanjay also recently worked with students from Berkeley University on an AI project called Solascape, which is a cutting-edge solar assessment tool designed to revolutionize the way individuals, businesses, and policymakers evaluate and adopt solar energy solutions. ?

“The projects like these remind me of the endless possibilities in AI and the impact we can make beyond corporate goals.”?

I had the privilege of working closely with him at HSBC for almost 10 years, especially on a project focused on Data Allocations and Activity-Based Management. The SnowPro Core and SnowPro Advanced certifications have been pivotal in shaping my career, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of data architecture, engineering, and advanced analytics in a cloud environment.”? ?

Certifications in Data Science, AI, ML, Big Data, AWS and Azure have further strengthened Sanjay’s technical capabilities, allowing him to tackle complex challenges and deliver impactful, data-driven insights. ?

Additionally, Sanjay’s Oracle and ThoughtSpot Professional certifications have strengthened Sanjay’s?expertise in database management and business intelligence, which allowed?him to design and implement scalable, efficient solutions across multiple platforms.?

Finally, Sanjay says he is impressed by Snowflake’s groundbreaking progress in2024, particularly with Snowflake Cortex AI. ?

“The integration of industry-leading large language models (LLMs), the unified platform for generative AI and ML, and LLM-powered chatbots are fundamentally transforming the future of enterprise AI. These innovations are empowering customers to build AI-powered applications more efficiently, accessibly, and reliably.” ?
