Katia Griggs and her company, Griggs Systems, began representing Knight Wall Systems in March 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, Katia was eager to add a continuous insulation (CI) solution to their product lineup. Knight Wall Systems stood out to her due to our strong commitment to customer service, sustainably built products, and dedication to American-Made and manufactured solutions. Over time, Katia found the most value in our collaborative approach—not only with Griggs Systems but also with other manufacturers she represents.

Additionally, advancements in technology have led to more efficient processes, but they also require clients to adapt quickly. “It’s all about staying informed so we can offer the most relevant, forward-thinking advice to our clients.”

Advice for Sales Professionals
When asked what advice she would give to aspiring sales professionals, Katia shared some key insights. “Understand your product inside and out—know its features and benefits,” she advises. Building long-term relationships with clients, active listening, and resilience are also crucial to success. “You have to be persistent and set clear goals while staying aware of the challenges in your industry.”

A Woman-Owned Business Built on Core Values
Griggs Systems, established in 2003, started as a small operation in a garage. Since then, it has grown into a woman-owned, certified small business with a showroom in San Mateo, California. Katia’s background in construction, specifically in estimating and purchasing, gave her a unique insight into the market. She noticed a gap in customer service between architects and installers, and she sought to fill that void by focusing on building relationships.
“We built Griggs Systems on the values of exceptional customer service and sustainability,” says Katia. “Today, those values still guide us as we continue to build new relationships and stay at the forefront of industry innovation.”
