Role in Mifos:? President/CEO & Board Member

Geographical Location Based: Sacramento, CA

Random fact about yourself: Growing up I helped my dad cleaning movie theaters - you find a lot of interesting things while sweeping under all the seats.

When/How did you first hear about Mifos: I first heard about the Mifos project when I applied to an opening for an intern at the Grameen Technology Center in early 2007 to guide the development of the community web portal for the open source project.?

Why did you decide to get involved: Upon graduation from undergraduate studies at the Wharton School, I was actively seeking a job in the field of social entrepreneurship. Although new to open source, the community-driven ethos of Mifos instilled in me by boss, Priscillia Dosiou, aligned greatly with past experiences in services clubs in high school, college and my experience in the cooperative movement as VP of Marketing at the UPenn Student Federal Credit Union.?

What does your role in Mifos entail: As President/CEO I shape the strategy and vision for our 501(c)3 non-profit focused on cultivating and growing a vibrant community of ecosystem of fintechs, financial institutions, and technologists building inclusive fintech solutions while helping to collectively maintain and evolve our suite of digital public goods.?

What is your highlight of being involved in Mifos: The lifelong friendships and bonds and trusted bonds I’ve formed with so many of the community members I’ve collaborated with over all the years. I take great pride in the personal commitment these individuals have to our mission and the catalytic impact they’ve enabled through either using our software, implementing or contributing to it. Each individual, regardless of their background, can contribute so meaningfully with our technology and crusted relationships I’ve formed with so many of the individuals that I have collaborated with make?

What is it you are most excited about that Mifos is doing at the moment: I’m excited about the organic adoption of our technology stack across all types of use cases for fintech and financial inclusion from the public and private sector. Almost on a daily basis we learn of a new user - the challenge and opportunity is telling that story and getting them to contribute back upstream helping to create a virtuous cycle.?

What is next on your list to change/improve/impact within Mifos: We are looking to formalize our partner program to help us reach further down the last mile to institutions needing Mifos by fulfilling our goal of having local partners in every region that are distributing the software, supporting users, and contributing back upstream. We also want to finally fulfill our vision for shared infrastructure, harnessing the power of the cloud to enable the last-mile institutions who need core modernization to be able to affordably access our solution to serve the most vulnerable and underserved households.?

What is your 5 year vision for Mifos: For Mifos to be widely adopted across the private and public sector with a vibrant community enabling a virtuous cycle of upstream contribution so we can achieve our 2030 vision of reaching 500 million clients.?

What 3 words would you use to describe Mifos: Inclusive, Collaborative, Game-Changing?
