SPOTAPOD: Origins

With social media creators reaching nearly half of humanity, many metrics are misleading and superficial. They hide the true value and impact of online content and tempt people to cheat or overestimate their success. In my newsletter we look at engagement pods and the impact they have on humanity.

Call them what you will, pods, parties, communities, groupies, schools, under the hood they are all the same. They may seem exciting and fun at first while increasing your serotonin and dopamine lust. It’s truly a remarkably high price to pay for your online reputation, being addicted to vanity metrics, depression, and a constant decline of your mental and physical health.

In this edition I want to focus on helping people understand what happens when you install a Chrome Extension for social media platforms. Watch this 2 minute video to see how companies access your account after connecting to them. Please share this with everyone!

TOP 2 WAYS TO GET YOUR LINKEDIN ACCOUNT HACKED!!!

I'll show you how easy it is for companies to access your account in the video.

#1. Installing just about any LinkedIn chrome extensionWhen they install, they can grab your LinkedIn cookie "li_at" from your browser and save it to their servers. Once they have that, they have unfettered access to your ENTIRE account. They can do anything because that cookie bypasses your login. They may send a refresh of your cookie on your next browser session as well to make sure the cookie is up to date.

#2. Link your account to a service company. Remember that cookie? If you are asked to link your account by a company like Taplio you are giving them your login which also gives them your magic LinkedIn cookie depicted in the video. Even if you change your password, they can still access your account and do things on your behalf. Be careful and don't toss your cookies and lets put the HUMAN back into HUMANity.
