Spot On Insurance Welcomes Justin Foa

Spot On Insurance Welcomes Justin Foa

Lots of our Spot On Insurance guests have family ties to the insurance industry, but Justin Foa takes it to a whole new level. He’s the fifth generation to lead the insurance firm that Fortunato Foa established in Genoa, Italy, in 1861. His grandfather relocated the business to New York City in 1935, after Mussolini outlawed insurance brokers.

Prior to joining the family’s firm, Justin worked for more than ten years in other multinational insurance brokerage firms, including Aon Risk Services, where he was Vice President of the Mergers and Acquisitions Due Diligence Insurance Division, and Marsh. He now serves as the President and CEO of Foa & Son, having taken over from his father, Conrad, in 2006.

Carrying on his family’s tradition of outstanding service and advocacy for their clients is so important to Justin. He shares his insights on how agency owners can encourage and prepare their children for careers in insurance. We discuss his recipe for mid-sized agency success and the opportunities that the international market offers. Then Justin talks about his involvement with the Insurance Brokers Association of New York and how IBANY’s advocacy and educational and networking resources help brokers achieve their professional goals.
