Sports Now Has a Place

You may have seen my story of the many people I've talked to in our industry that needed a place to get answers to the questions they're silently struggling with in their lives and careers.

The Legacy Leaders Inner Circle was founded as "an exclusive peer-to-peer community of C-level executives from sports & entertainment who are committed to inspiring conversation, deep learning, and personal exploration in a confidential, high-trust setting to achieve extraordinary personal and professional goals."

Our first Retreat last September at The Boulders Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ was a resounding success. We heard things like:

  • "Far exceeded my expectations..."
  • "Open, honest sharing that I wasn't really expecting..."
  • "The only agenda was to really help each other..."
  • "Eye-opening to get feedback on my situation that challenged the way I was thinking..."
  • "We're all facing challenges, but what's comforting is that now I don't feel alone"
  • "There's nothing else that compares to this experience."

We now have a second planned event that promises to be all that and more. And you're invited to click here to see the brief video that explains it all.

There are three things I'd like for you to consider as you plan to make 2024 a year of personal growth and fulfillment:

1. Placing a higher priority on your personal well-being in 2024. The crazy pace at which we operate, with fewer people, lack of transparency, longer hours, toxic politics and often unrealistic expectations is not sustainable. You must give yourself room to breathe, to think, and to assess where you are in your life, and it's something that your organization probably won't do for you unless you ask.

2. Finding a "tribe" that "gets" you for who you are. Most people outside our industry don't fully understand our challenges and sacrifices. When deep conversation can take place among trusted peers without an agenda or political motive, transformational things can happen.

3. Discovering an outlet where you can safely share your human side. Mental toughness has been a “must-have” for leadership in the sports industry, but leaders like you could benefit a great deal from a "personal mental health initiative" to help you on your journey to answer the life questions "What Now?" and "What's Next?".

Make 2024 YOUR year of discovery, innovation and collaboration. I'd be happy to talk with you about where you are on your journey.

Bill, let Russ Stanley know it was a pleasure working with him. It's been a couple of decades or so since I was with the Giants. Great memories.
