John Inhouse serves as the Managing Director and Market Executive for Merrill Lynch in Atlanta, GA. His rise in the ranks of Corporate America is accompanied by his desire to serve his community. Inhouse is a major advocate for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He currently serves as a Financial Planning Board Member for Clark Atlanta University. When asked about the future of HBCUs and how they can remain relevant, Inhouse believes that these schools should focus on in-demand careers and promote those majors to potential students. Inhouse also addressed the importance of fostering the development of social skills.
Inhouse is devoted to understanding and promoting diversity in the workplace. He recruits heavily from Clark Atlanta University and other schools in the AUC. He uses his position at Merrill Lynch to leverage numerous jobs and internship opportunities for college students, both undergrad and graduate. He also emphasizes special training for the diverse wealth management advisor recruits.
Aside from his work, Inhouse has a passion for the welfare of children of all backgrounds. To assist in the positive development of at-risk youth, Inhouse serves as a board member for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Fulton County. CASA advocates on behalf of neglected or abused children in the court system. Volunteers make sure these kids do not get lost in the overworked legal and social service system or endure a life of neglect in designated group or foster homes. Volunteers diligently remain involved with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. Inhouse has served on the CASA board since 2015.
Inhouse will be transitioning from the CASA board to The Atlanta Police Foundation. He will be working with At Promise Youth Center which is located in Vine City, one of the worst neighborhoods in Atlanta. The center will be a safe haven for local kids to get tutoring, join the Boys and Girls Club of America, and even enjoy a hot meal. Inhouse has served on other boards including Make a Wish Foundation, United Way of Greater Atlanta, and March of Dimes.
Inhouse has a passion for the welfare of all children. Becoming a father magnified his passion to ensure the welfare of children from every socioeconomic demographic. Inhouse is the ultimate family man. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, spending time with his wife and two boys, and attending sporting events. He also has coached his children’s baseball and flag football teams. The Sports Joc Wayne Gandy recognizes him as the Sports Joc Show's 2017 Man of The Year.
