Sports Helping CXOs at the Workplace

Sports Helping CXOs at the Workplace

At Bi Proficiency we have always placed a premium on the fitness of all. But it has been mostly found as a testament that intellectuals are never fit- and this can be very easily corroborated with the common scenes.

Intellectuals never think about being in good shape or focussing on brawn! Their sole aim is developing brains and their task-associated skills. They completely brush aside the health aspect stating that they have nothing to do with it. But your fitness is directly correlated with your brain and upper hand at the workplace.

And the benefits rendered by being fit have the biggest advantage for corporate leaders.???

That's why we focus our discussions mostly on the CXOs.

The term Bi Proficiency might sound like a single term, but it has several implications. The first impression with the suffix 'Bi' translates to something dual-natured. And that interpretation is perfectly correct, as we are developing a dual proficiency for the CXOs.

Their fitness and workplace upper hand are ensured here.

But this was not the real vision behind the nomenclature.

Here the term ‘Bi’ denotes the short form of business, as this is what we had envisioned.

Though we talk about fitness in various forms our motto is not making one a great wrestler or body-building champion!

We are here to make them the Corporate King!

All our discussions are focussed on how the corporate place efficiency of CXOs can be enhanced and how they can confidently take their business to unprecedented heights.

And the discussions are always highly scientific, data-driven, and result-oriented.

Our concepts were being confused by many people; therefore we thought to clear them up upfront.?

Our 20th Special Edition, relating sports with business performance, is an example of how such activities help us excel in the competitive corporate world!

So let’s delve into the details.

Organized multi-player sports offer several social & psychological advantages to all. And these advantages are much more than the individual physical activity involved, in the synergy. Sports not only keep our health better but also teach several life lessons that would benefit the workplace.

In sports, sometimes we win while sometimes we lose- and that's a part of the game. This teaches all to cope well with the highs and lows of life. Maintaining sportsmanship in the face of a loss takes a great deal of maturity and managing disappointing emotions.

Coping with an unpleasant experience develops a sense of resilience, and inculcates a habit of maintaining a positive disposition for the next time.

Apart from this, playing in a team develops several social skills. Better cooperation, greater listening skills, and lesser selfishness- are some major traits mastered. The sense of belonging, coordination, and a new circle outside the workplace and life are other perks.

The physical activities involved are found to stimulate neurotransmitters that make one feel happy. Regular involvement in sports calms emotional instability and make one feel confident and jovial.

The aforementioned discussion revolved around social skills basically. But the leadership skills learned are conspicuous. And from the CXOs' perspective, they hold more relevance.

Let’s enumerate those as well.

1.?????Team Work

This tacit thing is the fundamental leadership skill that helps CXOs excel at the organization. Sports are mostly about teamwork and coordination. Motivating participants to put their best foot forward, delegating responsibilities effectively & strategically, and inspirational leadership is some key aspects holding great relevance for the higher executives. And, sports help them master this all.

2.?????Communication

A great communicator is a great leader in itself! In sports, one needs the ability to work together while communicating everything at the right time. Sports also facilitate a platform to discuss winning ideas. Being a good listener, a team player, and a good communicator are some of the essential skills of CXOs and sports help them master all these, easily.

3.?????Decision Making

Observing and interpreting information quickly, and making a strategic decision on that basis is what one needs in sports. Effective sportsmen exhibit decisive behaviors. For example, basketball players have only one or two seconds to decide where to pass.

And the same situation is witnessed in the corporate world as well. As team participation develops strategic skills that pave the path to success, the same habits are instilled by sports that help in the corporate world.

4.?????Overcoming Adversities

Setbacks, obstacles, and adversities are a part of life. During sports, we have hard times as well. With this, he learns to keep calm and find ways to win the game. And this adverse situation teaches a lot to all of us. And the best benefit is then found in the corporate world.

5.?????Setting & Striving for goals

The people who have clear goals in mind, and in writing, and have the vision to accomplish them, are mostly the ones who succeed!

Organized athletes, before the real play, have various individual and team goals and strategies at hand. And these skills help athletes excel in the workplace as well. The lessons learned during games in regard to goal setting and discipline can take the business to unprecedented heights.

Other important leadership lessons learned from sports are practicing and preparing, dealing with success and failures, organizational and individual discipline, and a disposition to work hard towards goals.
