COVID-19 UPDATES
ESPN announced today the Madden NFL 20 Celebrity Tournament, featuring athletes, celebrities and ESPN talent. The tournament will kick off Sunday, April 19 with a bracket reveal show at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2, before all matches move to ESPN digital and social platforms, including ESPN Esports Twitch and YouTube, ESPN Twitter and the ESPN app. Matches will air each day at noon ET starting on Monday, April 20. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of the leading figures in the country's fight against the coronavirus pandemic, told Snapchat's Peter Hamby that he believes sports could return this summer—but only under certain conditions. Fauci said sports could potentially return safely without fans if players are isolated in hotels and tested frequently for the coronavirus. (Sports Illustrated)

President Donald Trump has appointed a group of prominent sports executives and team owners to serve as advisors for restarting the U.S economy amid the ongoing global health crisis. He revealed the new task force in a White House press briefing Tuesday evening, just 10 days after he held a 45-minute conference call with commissioners of major U.S. sports leagues. (SportTechie)

ADAPTING TO THE NEW NORMAL
MLS is rolling out a new digital training platform that aims to help youth and recreational players of all ages and abilities that are staying at home improve at soccer.
The platform, which is called “Train With MLS,” is launching on April 16 with an initial library of hundreds of videos organized in categories such as ball mastery, dribbling, and fitness. (Front Office Sports)
The NBA and Microsoft have announced a new multi-year partnership that will see the creation of a new direct-to-consumer streaming service to watch live and on-demand NBA games. Cloud computing service Microsoft Azure will power the platform, which is expected to launch in time for the 2020-21 season. (SportTechie)
