TOP STORIES
The new CBA, per Schefter, could be completed "sometime in the next week" and the postseason format changes would take effect in the 2020 season, if the deal was ratified in necessary time. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL and the NFLPA's current new collective bargaining agreement proposal would boost the sport's postseason from six teams per conference to seven. In addition, only one team from each conference would receive a first-round bye. (SI)
Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets was elected a Vice President of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) at today's annual winter meeting of the Board of NBPA Player Representatives. A 9-year veteran of the NBA, 6-time NBA All-Star and 2016 NBA Champion, Irving will replace Pau Gasol who has served on the Executive Committee since February 2017. (NBAPA)

David Beckham has reportedly signed a £180 million sponsorship deal with Qatar for his new football club Inter Miami. The deal has been on the cards for weeks after 'secret talks' were reportedly held between the football star and his agent David Gardner. (The Sun)
Anthony Crupi reports that a month in advance of the March 17 tipoff, “every last in-game commercial unit in the three-week college hoops showcase has been auctioned off to a client roster primarily made up of automotive, insurance, telco, fast-food and financial-services brands.” (Ad Age)

First, the A’s announced the audio broadcasts for all of their games this season will only be available online. Now this week, the San Jose Sharks are experimenting with broadcasting audio for their next four games on its mobile app and not on terrestrial radio.. (Mercury News)
