Big Data can be found anywhere you look, but especially in sports. Technology & analytics now play a big role in what used to be natural competition. 

2 weeks ago, my NFL team, the Carolina Panthers, went head to head with the Broncos in Superbowl 50. Unfortunately, my team lost, but I learned an important lesson this year - just how much data analytics is used in the Superbowl these days. I've read many articles in the last weeks about Big Data used to predict game outcomes, analyzing fan sentiment via social networks analysis, designing and focusing ads based on data insights, and understanding players' potentials, strengths and weaknesses via real-time data from sensors.

Where exactly are sports headed in this digital transformation?
