Sports and Action Photography
When shooting a fast moving situation, finding solutions to express the subject in the environment conditions your given, and with what ever the available light is exciting. I enjoy shooting water sports of all kinds. At a high speed shutter capture the details are clear and crisp. Here is an example of my recent shoot of several Kite Boarders in the surf. This was captured at 2,500th of a second.
This shot has a very slow shutter speed. The subject is moving at a high rate across the water. This is a hand held pan shot with a 200-500mm lens positioned at 500mm length. The shutter speed was 1/60th of a second. To achieve this, I must precisely match the speed of the subject as they pass by me, and consciously not to let pushing the shutter button down shake and blur the image. You can see the difference between the two images and each one has a different feeling. One shows amazing details the human eye can not see and the other shows the feeling of movement and focus. My next shoot with these individuals I have plans to be in the water. I'm looking forward to that.
My images can be leased for commercial purposes.
