Hello! If I promise no more Halloween puns, will you keep reading?
The nights are drawing in and the heating bills are creeping up. Are you feeling prepared for winter yet? I’m fully indulging in the Pumpkin Spice Lattes and hot water bottles.
It’s been a bit of a wild month over in my world. Unfortunately, the purchase of my dream home fell through due to situations beyond my control, so I’m regrouping for a few months and will start the house hunt again after Christmas. I’m obviously disappointed, but these things tend to work out for the best in the end, so I won’t let this minor setback keep me down.
I was lucky enough to appear on Simon Mitchell’s podcast, Social Mavericks, where we discussed how to use LinkedIn as your secret weapon for growth and sales. You can listen here.
Simon is also the creator of the absolutely incredible Canva course that I personally invested in. It taught me everything I know about creating awesome free Canva graphics that have been pivotal in attaining the LinkedIn (103k) and Instagram (4.4k in 4 months) following I now have. I can confidently say there isn’t a better Canva course available. You can find out what it covers here, and if you use code LEACANVA you will get a whopping £50 off!
You may have seen my post about starting a course of antidepressants – I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who sent messages or left comments on that post. It has now reached nearly one million views and more than 1000 comments – mind blowing. Firstly, it is so important to share this kind of post (only if you feel able to), because it helps to break the remaining stigma around mental health. But it also goes to show that vulnerable, relatable content where you are being honest about the highs AND the lows of life are still extremely well received on LinkedIn. Bringing our true humanity to the platform connects us far more powerfully than only talking business. If you're suffering with your mental health and need someone to speak to, you can call Samaritans for free on 116 123 if you're in the UK, or for international support you can find a helpline for your country here.
It’s half term this week, so I have my son at home with me, and on Friday we are off on a very special adventure together. I’m teaming up with some huge LinkedIn creators to bring you something very exciting. I am sworn to secrecy for now, but I’ll bring you more updates on it as soon as I can!
I’ve been having more and more INCREDIBLE feedback from people who’ve done my digital course, Making LinkedIn Simple. The "game-changing results" have been truly inspiring. The price of this course will be increasing at the end of November, so if you’ve been on the fence about it, here’s your forewarning that it is not staying at this bargain price for much longer!
In case you missed it earlier in the month, I also gave away a LinkedIn Cheat Sheet to help you out when it comes to where to spend your time on LinkedIn! You can still grab your copy right here!
FIX YOUR HEADLINE. Seriously, your headline is one of the first things people see when they encounter one of your posts or comments. The first 47-50 characters are visible on every comment, reply to a comment, connection request, post, share – you get the picture – and that’s no matter whether you are on big LinkedIn (computer) or little LinkedIn (cell/mobile). If those first 50 characters tell who you do what you do for them, you’re giving them a reason to visit your profile.
Stuck on what's best? Come up with three versions and asks your network which one speaks to them most clearly. Avoid starting with “Helping” or “I Help” – there are SO MANY headlines like this, it’s very difficult to stand out and be memorable.
The chaps and chappettes over at IAM Productions have offered an enormous £250 discount to any of my subscribers who want one of their epic video or animation packages. They are the champions of unforgettable evergreen lead-generating content and have created a number of videos and resources for me, including a brand video and short podcast, which a year on is still generating several leads a week for me. In fact, I more than quadrupled the cost of the package from the business I booked within 2 months of airing the video. I cannot recommend them highly enough.?Just let them know about my newsletter to claim the discount.
This is the 60-second elevator pitch video they did for me, which is in my featured profile posts and results in leads weekly!

As promised, I bring you some content inspiration each week. We've been talking lots about content in my private Slack community recently (my clients are all invited to join, so if you're a client and you haven't joined yet, DM me for the link). Being creative with content brings me so much joy, so I love that I can share that creativity with my clients beyond their coaching sessions. Here's a couple of ideas for you this week:
James Elliott - Resilience Coach & Psychotherapist
James is an experienced resilience coach and psychotherapist. He supports a number of charities, veterans, and everyone from elite performance athletes to special forces, to ordinary humans like me. He’s been providing psychotherapy to me recently and it is having profound effects on how I perceive and understand myself, and bringing me a lot of peace, where usually I am chaotic. I highly recommend you follow and/or connect with him for his insightful mental health and inspiring resilience-based content.??
Cheryl Thompson - The Courage Consultant
If you like to follow female powerhouses with inspiring content and a fierce determination to support those around her, you should be following Cheryl.
After working together, she has become a good friend and I cannot wait to meet her in person. She’s one of the smartest, kindest women I’ve met on LinkedIn, and you should definitely give her a follow!
And lastly, we have just THIRTY Christmas Party Tickets left. We’re set to raise thousands for Macmillan Cancer Support, while enjoying drinks, food, and new friends at Green Room, London on 1st December. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, don’t leave it too late. I cannot wait to meet SO many of you!
That's it from me for now (I hear you sighing in relief!) Happy Halloween everyone, and don’t forget the clocks go back Saturday night if you’re in the UK!
Have a beautiful week!
