Spook-tacular Success: HackSoft’s October Recap! ???
?? Welcome to our October newsletter! And Happy Halloween! ?
As the spooky season is upon us, we’re excited to share some fang-tastic updates and achievements from HackSoft . Find out how we’ve been brewing up success this month! ???
Celebrating partnerships ??
The first week of October was an exciting one for us at HackSoft! ?
We had the pleasure of hosting the HackSoft Partnership Summit for the second year in a row - a special event curated for our valued partners and clients. The summit celebrates long-lasting partnerships and creates new opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
Saturday's Gala Dinner was the highlight, where we gathered with our esteemed partners from around the globe for an evening filled with surprises, great conversations, and unforgettable moments. ??
Safe to say, it was a huge success and we are already looking forward to next year's edition! ?
Giving back mentality ????
After a summer of hard work and collaboration, the newly renovated Hall 100 at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski ’s Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics is now open and ready for students to enjoy! ??
HackSoft had the honor of giving this beloved space a fresh new look, turning it into a modern spot where students can study, play games, or just socialize with fellow classmates. ????
This initiative is especially meaningful to us because our founders ( Radoslav Georgiev and Ivaylo Bachvarov ) met at this very faculty, where the idea of HackSoft was born. Giving back to the place that sparked our journey feels like coming full circle. ???
We know Hall 100 has always been a cherished corner for FMI students, and we hope this transformation makes everyone feel at home and helps create even more memorable moments. ??
On that note ?? October was filled with more spooky-good initiatives at FMI.
Our CEO, Radoslav Georgiev , had the honor of attending the start of the academic year at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. ??
Rado not only attended the opening ceremony but also had the privilege of handing out student cards to 40 new Informatics students. To make the moment even more memorable, we added a pair of HackSoft socks to keep them warm during the chilly winter months ahead. ??
And that's not all!
On top of it all, our VP of Engineering, Kamen Kotsev , had the opportunity to speak at this year’s FMI All-Stars 2024 event on Oct 20th. ?
FMI All-Stars is a unique, informal conference where faculty and alumni come together to share ideas and engage in meaningful discussions with students. ??
Kamen’s lecture, "Git - Practical Usage," was well-received, sparking great conversations and providing attendees with hands-on knowledge. ??
It’s truly rewarding to return to our roots and give back to the place that inspired HackSoft’s beginning. We look forward to contributing even more in the future. ??

Getting your (Q)A game on! ???????
On October 25th, our CTO, Ivaylo Bachvarov , led a highly successful workshop titled “Automation QA: The Essentials.” ??
Hosted by our partners at HackBulgaria , the workshop was a huge hit! ?
Ivaylo has been a crucial part in shaping and guiding our QA processes over the years. His leadership is a big reason why our QAs at HackSoft are exceptional, and we knew he’d do an amazing job sharing his expertise with others. ??
Kudos to Ivaylo and to everyone who participated! ?? We hope to see him lead even more workshops in the future!
Django is all we need! ??
Another exciting thing that happened this month - the talks from EuroPython 2024 are officially live! ??
You can now watch our CEO, Radoslav Georgiev ’s insightful session from this year’s conference on YouTube. ?? The topic? "Rapid Prototyping & Proof of Concepts: Django is All We Need."
Rado dives into essential strategies, including:
1?? How to approach rapid prototyping with the correct mindset.
2?? Being quick with Django models.
3?? Realizing that types can be our friends.
4?? Realizing that Django admin may be all the UI we need (at least, in the beginning).
5?? Using HTMX where it makes sense.
6?? Components in Django templates are a good idea.

That’s all for our October updates! ?
As the spooky season wraps up, don’t let the ghouls and goblins get you down - stay energized and ready for a strong end to the year! ??
We’ll be back next month with more wickedly good news and updates. Until then, have a fang-tastic Halloween! ??
