Near the top of each episode of Ozark, the screen fades to black.
A bright white serif capital O fades in.
Then crosshairs.
Lastly, four reductive illustrations appear.
Each one offers a clue about the plot of the current episode.
But none offer enough context to give anything away.
It's a riddle, a puzzle, a teaser.
And it makes watching the episode even more rewarding to recall each symbol as the corresponding plot points are revealed.
The drawings do the opposite of spoiling the episode: they create even more anticipation for content that is already presumably thrilling and suspenseful.
I think that's incredible.
