Spoiled: a Generational Divide

I’m seeing a trend where some members of older generations are referring to young people as being spoiled. At first I was picturing this as rotten food – spoiled being that something good was turned sour – but now I realize that this is an indication that the Speaker:

  • Wished they had those opportunities
  • Is lamenting their decision making?
  • Is realizing they have different wants and needs

From another perspective that same person known as Spoiled can also be known as Blessed. If you too are one of the Blessed, please know that sometimes words lobbied at you are both a reflection of the person tossing the verbal grenade and more about how times have changed, creating a generational divide.

One of the Blessed,
