For example, in the early 2000s in the city of Glasgow in Scotland the civic authorities changed the colour of the street light from yellow to blue to improve the appearance of the city, but they saw an unexpected development in the number of crimes committed in those streets.?

Category of colours:
Colours are divided into two categories; Warm and Cool colours.
Warm colours such as red, orange and yellow and a combination of these provide the illusion of heat and warmth as they remind us of sunlight and heath. Visually, warm colours appear closer.
Cool colours such as blue, purple and green provide a sense of calm and relaxation and have a visual reminder of elements of nature like water, sky and grass.
Warm colours can be comforting, stimulating and invoke powerful feelings like joy, playfulness and passion.
