Spirituality In Your Hustle + Embracing The Inner 'Woo Woo'

Can I get a hell yeah for my 'woo woo' brothers and sisters out there! I'm a self proclaimed woo-woo junkie but I realised that I haven't yet shared this side of me to my LinkedIn family. Ok so do these words below light you up or scare the Beetlejuice out of you?

  • Manifesting
  • Journalling
  • Visualisation
  • Meditation
  • Law of Attraction
  • Prayer + Belief
  • Spirituality In Biz

Well now.... let's talk about this shall we? Grab a cuppa and let's get woo together!

I have always manifested. I'd close my eyes at night as a 6 year old and hope and believe I'd kill it in my ballet performance on the weekend. As a 13 year old I manifested my dream boy - he even asked me to the dance! As an 18 year old I manifested my university entry scores. As a 25 year old I manifested my promotion. At 33, I've manifested well, my life today!

I have had a profound spiritual thread running through my DNA since the beginning of my existence. I grew up in a spiritual household - my Dad with Buddhist beliefs and my Mum with a Catholic background. For a good decade I was sent to a Christian school (as most private schools are here in Australia) and I grew up with the practice of prayer and faith. Every Thursday we had to attend chapel and every morning we'd give thanks for our day. Today I embrace the inner 'woo girl' (but not in the I'll down 10 tequila shots kind of way - hahahah, or maybe?? LOL) - it's no surprise that today I ground into spiritual beliefs such as manifestation, law of attraction, journaling, visualisations and meditation.

But all of this isn't at all what I came here to talk about... I came here to share the kind of spiritual practices and inner work I do to make my outer/ external world a reality:

  1. Journalling: I think of this as a written belief statement, a belief that something you put out there to the universe is completely yours to have IF and only IF you do. the. freakin'. work. I talk about using your actions to move towards your big ticket dream. This often for me starts with journalling. I use this in my business daily and I'm up to journal #4567865.
  2. Manifestation: Highly linked to journalling - this is the power of trusting the processes and stepping into completely knowing and feeling that it's yours to have. I do this regularly with selling out my courses, getting that big brand ambassador gig and speaking on stages around the world.
  3. Visualisation: I LOVE to visualise. I actually feel so much power in my visions and have vivid visions and dreams. So both my conscious and subconscious mind is highly visual. Perhaps I've been gifted but I do believe visualisation is like a muscle. You have to practice and give it time in your meditation to start really harnessing how to use this in your business. I visualise my book signing, I see me standing on a large stage speaking a large audience of 10's of thousands, I see my future home on the beach outside of Australia. I see me travelling to Santorini and working from a cute cafe overlooking the Aegean Sea. I write these down and go as far as to find images to pin to my pinterest board to remind me of these images I know forms my future. Do you visualise?

So I know many of you are badass spiritual guru's and some of you might be coming around to the idea. Feel into what works for you and feel aligned to your truth.

For those of you interested, I draw my inspiration from Gabby Bernstein - I'm a MAJOR fan girl. I love me some Oprah for all of her spiritual guidance and I also take a huge interest in meditation and all Katrina Ruth has to teach me about stepping into purpose.

I dive a lot deeper into how I harness spirituality in biz in my latest podcast episode (links below). It's a raw look into my experience with 'Spirituality In Business + Stepping Into Purpose + A Guided Visualisation'. I get vulnerable with why I pushed my purpose away for years and refused to believe I had more to offer. If this is of interest you can listen to it here:

Thanks for sharing Ruby, it's so interesting to hear what tools people use to perform.? I am the least woowoo person (maybe I'm the anti-woo?!) so some of these things do not personally resonate with me or fit with how I believe the world works.? BUT I've recently spent 365 days practicing meditation after reading lots of interesting research & evidence of the physical and psychological benefits (because, science) and have got a lot out of the experience.? Journalling is such a powerful habit to build - even just to empty the brain of the to do lists! I actually wrote about my 365 days of meditation last week and it got more comments than most of my articles, it's definitely a hot topic and I wonder how much our current ways of living and working are contributing to people looking at these old practices (especially meditation) to counterbalance the craziness of life.

What if fabulous article and visualization with the law of attraction and gratitude is something I’ve been doing for a very long time. I’m in empath and clairvoyant and no I don’t mention it on LinkedIn but it is a part of who I am and I remember knowing I had these gifts when I was a very young child. Thank you for reminding many of us it’s ok to talk about it on any platform.
