I was revisiting The Map Of Consciousness Explained and re-reading Dr. David Hawkins’s 14 spiritual principles, and they jumped out more than the first time I read them. As you read through them, I’ve just shared the actual principle and not Hawkins’s explanation. You’ll notice they don’t sound as “woo” as you might expect, being spiritual principles.

I highly encourage you to grab a copy of the book to learn more about each principle, the different levels of consciousness, and how taking more control over your own might impact your Pursuit.

1. Look at life not as a place to acquire but as an opportunity for learning.
2. Develop humility
3. Be willing to overlook and forgive
4. Observe people with compassion
5. Cultivate curiosity about and familiarity with the nature of consciousness
6. Seek to give love rather than receive it
7. Avoid creating “enemies”
8. Choose a benign role and view of life
9. Give up guilt
10. Let go of resistance
11. Realize that “Truth” is dependent on context
12. Practice nonattachment
13. Accept that everything serves a purpose
14. Avoid false gurus
