THE SPIRIT OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM
THE SPIRIT OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM OF KENYA
A GIFT THAT DESERVES TO BE LOVED TRULY
FOR YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL
An Opinion: By Wangechi Macharia, the Individual.
What is love if not a sense of service beyond self? What loves a gift truly if not giving it the fullness of your service beyond yourself? That is when you have everything to lose? What is the fuel to love truly if not pure passion and ambition? For in purity we find balance. In balance we find abundance. In abundance we find glory. In glory we find the Spirit of the Law, as God so wills. For our Gift that deserves to be loved truly, our Motherland requires to be loved truly.
Where is this going?
Home, to the beginning when our mother land was born, and we could define freedom the Kenyan way thus receiving a sense of individuality for in as much as we are one, so are we unique each in their own way. Remember to whom much is given, much shall be expected. That is simply the truth.
Over thinkers by nature are truth seekers. Can you handle truth? But too much of anything is poisonous. Good or bad. That includes love, passion, desire, freedom, hate, definitions. For the seemingly the spirit of the Law as God so wills it is true love, peace and unity. Isn’t that the truth? Why not?
The spirit of the Law as God so wills is in our nature. Every individual is seemingly born empowered and equipped to play their own role in the glory of Kenya. For is Science not creating? Is legislation not created by individuals entrusted with authority? The Law is created. It’s the spirit that requires preservation.
The scholar is familiar with Neo-Marxism. Man has acknowledged in these times day and age, that change is constant. Every individual in their nature changes, from birth till death. It is your strength to adapt and throve that seemingly matters in this wasteland we have made of our motherland. Even too much of history is poison. There is more than one school of thought. It is the wise who change their mind to adapt and thrive. For wisdom is given. The essence of education is simply to equip. See how far without out it some still thrive and it is their God given right to do so, in the Law of the spirit as God so wills. Progressively these virtues can be achieved, learned, trained and exercised, they are, true love, peace and unity.
Common sense dictates it is the small foxes that ruin the vine. Seemingly the vine is the individual. The evidence, have you thought of the Mother land’s anthem. For it has been before us. It is our history, united in peace. Words are powerful. There is a freedom in tangible existence. Isn’t that the essence of the law?
The Solution may be simpler than has been thought.
In the beginning, a happy passionate, loving individual helped put together the words that are the anthem of our Motherland. Anthem has spirit in itself. Those words show that the individual had a sense of service beyond self and thus loved the motherland as required, truly, in peace, love and unity. I am sure a passionate individual with this passion may have already arrived at the same conclusion.
It is a prayer. Prayer arouses the spirit in every individual. So does music and song. The words are so powerful but if forgotten seemingly they shall be devalued. For it is in the nature of an individual to change. We must remember not to forget that we may keep loving, and having passion but is it pure and true. For a human being desires survival and we unite against great odds but why do we not have a sense of service beyond self? Why can we not be disciplined to have kept the love in peace and unity? I ask myself that question every day, for myself, the individual. Should every individual do the same? No. We have freewill. Each one is unique and gifted. Each one is an authority in its own right for the glory of our Land. Seemingly that is why always, no news is good news.
Look at the fruits of labor and passion. They are good; remember too much of anything is poison, good or bad?
Article 2 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 states that:
The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Republic and binds all persons and all State Organs at both level of government.
We can change the Law, but can we change its spirit as it was predestined for us in the beginning? Isn’t there chaos in abundance and in spite of it so much hope, love and resilience? Isn’t the essence for the glory of something that lives beyond us, through the work of our hands?
If it read,
‘In the Spirit of the Law as preserved in our National Anthem, the constitution is the Supreme Law of the Republic and binds all persons and all State Organs at both level of government;’ Would the dilemma dissipate, if the Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2020 is created simply with true pure, passion for our Land?
I am a young, passionate individual. There is a wisdom that must be acknowledged, given by time and training. Time thus translates that age also brings wisdom, unique in its own way. I do not have all the facts. Self-righteousness is seemingly against the spirit of a sense of service beyond self. Aren’t we all self-righteous? Is there a need to adapt to change that we may thrive? Chaos seems to multiply the bleeding, loss, death, shame, pain, suspicion, evil, jealousy and vices, those words in their meaning seem to starve prosperity. And isn’t the glory of our land found in her prosperity? Achieved in a sense of service beyond self?
Neo-Marxism, for the greater good, is it possible, achievable? This greater good defined by every individual in their own unique way. According to the gifts each individual has. In peace love and unity there are no small foxes that are ruining the vine for discipline and love for the greater good shall factually be present.
Mind set change through discipline. How do we define discipline, if not simply not causing hurt the same we wouldn’t want to experience? In life good things and bad things happen to anyone. For doesn’t the rain fall on both the just and the unjust, but do we have passion for life? For life is seemingly for the living. We achieve but we leave it all behind. An individual stated that, in the grave that is where the treasure are. But some graves are gardens. They left books, knowledge power to be wielded by those that come after them. Books and education equip the gifts within us. An individual did think and state, there are more ways than one to catch a rat. Well, we can catch many rats using all those many ways. Can we? We have met the words.
Words are powerful. Knowledge is power. Change is also doing better. Rome was said not have been built in a day. For we choose what to believe then we choose how to act. Balance in moderation. Is moderation the key? An open mind, for one cannot fill a cup that is already full.
Can True Love, Peace and Unity, through equity and equality? Are we busy defending the present, forgetting what we choose about the past and consequently failing to love this gift as it deserves? Can we implement modern school of thoughts that accommodate every voice in its uniqueness?
What is equality? Isn’t it freedom in a box and thus a gift? How? Equality is balance. Equity is justice in the spirit of the Law. Are we simply misunderstanding each other, holding on to small passions with very little pure prayer or song? Am I misunderstanding how this gift is handled? For peace is not guaranteed and tomorrow is not promised.
Tribe, race, color, nationality, tradition, custom; each one a box and without moderation, each one is seemingly toxic to the future, and glory of our given gifts. No individual is an island in as much as they are an authority in their own right according to their gifts.
In a sense of service beyond self, unity makes one voice stronger than many loud voices saying many different things. There is unity, in one song, one anthem, one spirit, one voice, one land and one supreme Law and one Kenyan Constitution for Kenya, for the greater good.
Do you know all the words of the anthem of our land, do you understand, feel and believe in that spirit? Can you honor it? We all need strength and courage. For the greater good, can we have a sense of service beyond self, with conviction, passion and action that the spirit may be preserved? Everything is easier said than done. Today is the history of tomorrow. This deserves a good, strong, disciplined and beautiful history. Good things take time and lead to glory.
THE WORDS OF OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM:
Prayer: National Values and Ethos (Depends on the perspective):
Oh, God of all creation,
Bless This Land and Nation,
Justice be our shield and defender,
May we dwell in, unity, peace and liberty;
Plenty is found within our Boarders.
Let one and all arise,
With hearts both strong and true,
Service be our earnest endeavor,
And our homeland of Kenya,
Heritage of splendor;
Firm may we stand, to defend our Land.
Let all with one accord,
In common bond united,
Build this our nation together,
And the GLORY OF KENYA
Fill every heart with thanks giving.
In my opinion as an individual, that is the spirit. We all have opinions. But do we understand beyond ourselves? The truth will set you free but no one said it was easy to hear it, feel it or understand it or act on it. Our humanity by nature does not find pleasure in it.
