The Spirit of the Lord is Upon Us.
Today I will be preaching on The Spirit of the Lord is Upon Us. ?God has blessed Archbishop with the revelation of Christocracy, and I am truly honored to talk further about this topic. The Holy Spirit is vital for our lives.
A young woman brings home her fiance to meet her parents. After dinner, her mother tells her father to find out about the young man. The father invites the fiance to his study for a talk.
"So what are your plans?" the father asks the young man.
"I am a Bible student." he replies.
"A Bible student? Hmmm," the father says. "Admirable, but what will you do to provide a nice house for my daughter to live in, as she's accustomed to?"
I will study," the young man replies, "and God will provide for us." "And how will you buy her a beautiful engagement ring, such as she deserves?" asks the father.
"I will concentrate on my studies," the young man replies, "God will provide for us."
"And children?" asks the father. "How will you support children?" "Don't worry, sir, God will provide," replies the fiance.
The conversation proceeds like this, and each time the father questions him, the young idealist insists that God will provide.
Later, the mother asks, "How did it go, honey?"
The father answers, "The bad news is, he has no job and no prospects, but the good news is he thinks I'm God."
We as Christocrats have the Holy Spirit inside of us, but we must be doers of the Word as well.
There are three aspects of the Holy Spirit in terms of Christocracy: 1) The Holy Spirit is our Airplane Pilot. 2) The Holy Spirit is our Anointing. 3) The Holy Spirit is our Attorney.
1)??? The Holy Spirit is our Airplane Pilot.
Firstly, The Holy Spirit is our Airplane Pilot. Turn with me please to Genesis 1:1.
The Holy Spirit first sat upon the waters in Genesis 1. The earth was made perfect in the beginning when God created the heavens and the Earth. ?There was a rebellion in heaven, and Satan was cast down. In Ezekiel, the Bible describes the beauty of Lucifer and the perfection of Lucifer until iniquity was found in him. Iniquity is sin that leads to pride. Let pride not be found in us in Jesus name. The Devil thought that he could contend with the Most High, but his arms were too short to box with God. ?
In Revelation, it describes the fight between Satan and the forces of God, and the Devil was cast down with one third of the angels. Jesus said in Mark that he saw Satan fall like lighting from heaven. So Satan was cast down and he is like a roaring lion, he wants to take over Earth. The Holy Spirit sat upon the waters in Genesis 1:2 to protect the earth and to make sure that the Devil could never use the Earth for his nefarious purposes. But we must not think of the Holy Spirit as an it or an inanimate object or merely a force. The Holy Spirit is not an it, He is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son.
Because of the? revolt or cataclysmic event in heaven, the earth was leveled off? and became formless and water formed on the deep. The earth is now useless and there is a? gap restoration. According to verse no#2, it became formless. Nothing could be useful and it had no life and no way of operating. The earth was void. The Spirit of the Lord moved upon the face of the deep. Water was over the surface of the entire earth. The impact of the rebellion was that God put waters on the earth. Verse 2a and 2b of Genesis 1 were different points in time.
The event took place in heaven that influenced the earth. There was war in heaven. Because there was war in heaven the Devil was cast out. In verse 3, and God in the infiniteness of power said let there be light. The heavens responded to the earth because the earth was for God’s beauty. This beautiful place was where God took vacations and a decision was made from heaven. Restoring the earth.
Light is commanded to appear in Genesis verse 3a and light responded to the command in Genesis verse 3b. The word be is to let it come to its place. Verse 3a and 3b is critical to understanding the full plan of God. Everything in our scientific world is to challenge God, but science is inferior to revelation. Science is meant to understand that God is the sustainer of the world. God saw the light and it was good. The light and the power and the separation of day and night. Everything else is commanded and spoken into.
Adam was filled with the Holy Spirit. The very triune God breathed into him. In their state of being children of God, they disobeyed their Creator. Adam was a trustee and he seemed to miss the point. That means that Adam was tapped into God, in that the names that God gave Adam was able to be duplicated on Earth.
The responsibility of man was that man would govern the Earth according to God’s plan. It was not to be ruled by Satan. God created the heavens and reigned in it, but he created the earth for man to reign. God created man to have dominion. Man will rule for the glory and the honor of God.? God congratulated them and said that you are crowned. God had never done anything like that before. God remained eternal and glorious.
The Holy Spirit empowers us, but he empowers us to do work for the kingdom. He does not empower us so we can sit down and wait while God does all the work. God is our Maker he not our Maid. ?The Holy Spirit empowers us to be enlisted in an army, not to be like we went to the movies. We are soldiers enlisted in a cause, and that cause is evangelism and the winning of souls. That cause is to tear down the gates of the enemy.
Gates are a mechanism in order to keep things out or to keep things in. For years the enemy has been keeping the goodness of God out of our lives while putting evil inside of our lives. But God is with us in the fight. ?God did the work first when he sent his Son to die on Calvary. The Devil has gates but God has the Cross. Now God is telling us that we must do our part. He empowers us for a purpose. We think of prayer as getting things ready for God to act, but prayer is getting us ready to act according to God’s will. We should make sure that our prayers are a conversation to get our marching orders from the Most High. God said that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
The Holy Spirit then came upon various leaders of the Old Testament. He came upon Samson. Samson was able to tear a lion apart and to slay 1000 people with a jawbone. Now, I’ve never seen a bone that was strong enough to do more than be eaten but this was by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit came upon Saul. There was a town called Jabesh Gilead and one of the enemies of Israel wanted to invade it. They sent people saying that they wanted peace and the king of the enemies of Israel said that he wanted to leave each Israelite half blind. So Israel sent people to Saul and the Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily. He tore oxen in two and sent them throughout Israel with? the word that all of Israel must assemble. And they did and they fought the enemy and received a great victory.? The Holy Spirit also came upon David and we see the mighty work that David did throughout his life.
There were 3 people in an airplane and they were the worlds smartest man, an old man and a little boy. There dilemma was that the plane was crashing towards earth but there were only 2 parachutes. So they started to argue who would get a parachute the worlds smartest man said, 'I get a parachute because I have many more things to discover. ' and so he grabbed a chute and jumped, now there was only the old man and the little boy with only one parachute left. The old man said to the little boy 'you go I've lived a longer life and after everything I've done I deserve to pass on. The little boy said 'Thats okay because the worlds smartest man took my back pack.'
Without the Holy Spirit we are like the world’s smartest man who took the backpack. We jump out into life and then we are just falling to our doom. All of our knowledge, all of our experience and power is useless without the Holy Spirit. We think we have more things to discover but we can’t discover anything without God. ?We are in need of a Savior. God did not come to make good people better he came to make dead people live. ?But now is the time to embrace the Holy Spirit. Now is the acceptable time of our salvation. ?All of our wisdom and knowledge is useless if we don’t have the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that our righteousness is as filthy rags. With the Holy Spirit we are kings and queens. So embrace your power as Christocrats.
There was a pilot named Captain Sullenberger and he piloted an airplane that was supposed to fly overseas. However the airplane ran into trouble and the Captain had to land the plane on the Hudson River. Think of the skill that this would have taken. Some of us miss our plates when we are eating something but this brave man had to land a plane on the river so that lives could be saved. And he did and all of those peoples lives were saved.
The Holy Spirit also sat upon the waters, and he sits upon us as well. The Spirit of the Lord in the Old Testament is still the Holy Spirit today. So that we could be redeemed and and restored and delivered. The Holy Spirit did not just sit upon the waters once, but he sits upon the believer, the Christocrat, for all time. ?The Holy Spirit sits upon us, so we can sit upon thrones and make a difference in the earth. There was a cartoon that one person said to another, I wonder when God is going to act and really change the Earth. The other person replied, I think God is going to ask me the same thing. God has empowered us to do every good work upon this planet, to restore our families to their rightful positions as rulers, and to do exploits. ?????????????????????????????????????????????? 2) The Holy Spirit is our Anointing.
Secondly, The Holy Spirit is our Anointing. God has taken it a step further from being our airplane pilot and is now our anointing. Its like the difference between flying on an airplane and having a relationship with a relative. Our relationship with our relative is forever, but our relationship with the airplane pilot ends when we leave the plane. The Holy Spirit was in control of Jesus throughout his life, but even the Holy Spirit made demands upon Jesus. ?The Holy Spirit will make demands upon us and we as Christocrats must listen. The Holy Spirit came upon Samson as a judge, David as a shepherd, and Saul as a king, but he came upon Jesus in His composite function as a judge, shepherd and king. ?
The Holy Spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness. The desert which could be brutally hot in the daytime and bone chilling cold in the night. It had no food or water and besides that Jesus was on a fast for 40 days. I complain when the weather is above the president’s age in the summer but Jesus had to suffer that day after day and suffer in the wilderness for 40 days before being tempted. And he did all of that because he wasn’t bigger than the Holy Spirit. He didn’t say I’m God too and I don’t have to do this. He went into the wilderness and made the rock his pillow and the sands of wilderness his bed.
When Jesus left the wilderness he left with power. He left with the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon him. Some of us never leave our wilderness places. The Israelites who left Egypt, only Joshua and Caleb left the wilderness. The wilderness for us is temporary it is not meant to be permanent. What is meant to be permanent is for us to do the work of God. Jesus said the Holy Spirit is upon me because. There is a reason for the Holy Spirit to be upon him.
He said that he came to heal the blind. Not just those who were physically blind but those who were spiritually blind as well. The Holy Spirit empowered so that Christ was able to light a way for people to see that he is God and that he is their healer and deliverer and restorer.
3) The Holy Spirit is our Attorney and Advocate.
Luke 4:14-20.
Lastly, The Holy Spirit is our Attorney, our Advocate. The Holy Spirit does not just sit upon us, does not just anoint us with power, but he advocates for us in our dealings with the Father and with the enemy. This advocacy is based on relationship. It is because he knows us that he is able to advocate for us. In this country, you have to retain a lawyer sometimes for them to represent you in court. And we have retained the services of the Holy Spirit when we believe in Christ and follow him as Christocrats. First let me talk about the advocacy that the Holy Spirit does with the enemy. Turn with me please to John 14: 26. Counselor is another word for Attorney, and the Holy Spirit
Jesus said that he would send the Holy Spirit who would help to teach us and to guide us into all truth. Our faith is like a classroom and the Holy Spirit is our professor. But he is the master professor who will help us to understand the word and the work of God.
The Bible says that the Spirit joins to help us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should. Prayer is a two-way communication between us and God. Jesus taught us how to pray by reciting the Lord’s Prayer, but he also taught us how to seek God’s heart in prayer. If I go to a different country and do not know the language, it would be difficult for me to communicate without an interpreter. Similarly, the Holy Spirit and Jesus are our interpreters, and they interpret on behalf of God to us and on behalf of us to God. The Bible says that Jesus is at the right hand of God and interceding for us. So both the Holy Spirit and Jesus are interceding. The Devil is the Accuser of the Brethren, but he has to get through the Holy Spirit and Jesus, and he will never be able to because they stand as advocates before the father.
?It is like how the Devil took down one third of the angels with him, but many other angels stood before God and stood on God’s side. The Holy Spirit is the perfect interpreter, because he interprets our prayers and interprets prayer in general according to God’s will. There is chaos that ensues when an interpreter misinterprets someone’s words to another. This is especially true when world leaders come together to talk, and any miscues may prove disastrous. But the Holy Spirit never gets it wrong. Jesus said that he would send a Counselor, and another word for Counselor is lawyer. He is our perfect advocate who stands before the Courts of the Lord to advocate for those who believe and trust in God. He interprets with unspoken groanings and groanings that cannot be uttered because even when we cannot find the words to say to God in our deepest needs, the Holy Spirit already knows.
The? Holy Spirit also advocates for us with our dealings with the Father. But?the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the Dead. Since the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead there is nothing that the Holy Spirit cannot empower us to do, because he has God’s ear.
An attorney was sitting in his office late one night, when Satan appeared before him.
The Devil told the lawyer, “I have a proposition for you. You can win every case you try, for the rest of your life. Your clients will adore you, your colleagues will stand in awe of you, and you will make embarrassing sums of money. All I want in exchange is your soul, your wife’s soul, your children’s souls, the souls of your parents, grandparents, and parents-in-law, and the souls of all your friends and law partners.”
The lawyer thought about this for a moment then asked, “So, what’s the catch?”
The trouble with Adam and Eve is that they ?never asked what is the catch, what is the downside to eating the fruit. The Devil presented all of the supposed good things that would come with eating the fruit that they would be gods, knowing good and evil, but he left out the eternal separation, God had to come down and tell them that in righteous judgment. And the Devil repeats his tactics so he did the same thing with Jesus. The Devil left out the bad part when he told Jesus I will give you the kingdoms of the Earth if you bow down and worship me like he did to Adam and Eve but Jesus was smarter than that. He told the Devil, You are not slick. But he said it more politely than that. ?He said, Away from me Satan. ?
“How can I ever thank you? Asked ?a woman to a famous lawyer after he had solved her legal troubles. “My dear woman,” the famous lawyer replied, “ever since money was invented in this country there has been only one answer to that question.”
That same Holy Spirit lives in us. He has a heart for us. And best of all, we did not have to pay for the Holy Spirit. We must not think as Christocrats that we must pay for the things of the Holy Spirit or that we can earn grace. The apostles encountered a man called Simon the Sorcerer. Now this Simon the Sorcerer was a renowned man in his region. This just goes to show that the enemy thinks of territory and how to bind people in certain territory. The territory of the United States, the territory of Africa, the territory of Europe, etc. But God has given us all of the territory including the territory of the enemy. He must have been doing his sorcery for a long time.?
He amazed people by his sorcery. People were genuinely astonished by his sorcery because they had not seen anything like it. That is until they met the power of the Most High.? People called him the Great Power of God. People had not encountered the power of God, so they thought that this human with witchcraft powers was the Great Power of God. When people do not know God, they will turn to all sorts of sorcery and witchcraft in order to mimic the power of God. They will turn to things like astrology, tarot cards, in order to duplicate the power of the Most High. But God says that he is God alone and that his power he will share with no man.
This man had counterfeit power. There was a story about this counterfeiter who was so good, that he was even able to get a similar paper that dollar bills were being printed on and duplicate that paper for counterfeit purposes. His dollar bills were able to pass all of the security checks that they use in determine whether or not a dollar bill is real. The only thing was that the dollar bill was not real, but a counterfeit. The Bible says that Satan and his angels are able to dress as angels of light and his minsters like ministers of righteousness.
But when the disciples brought the gospel? everyone believed, including Simon the Sorcerer. He stepped forward and said that I want to believe. He would have given up his life of sorcery and witchcraft.
He was baptized.? This should have been a happy moment. The angels should have been rejoicing in heaven. But I feel that the angels held back, and for the following parts of the passage.
Simon the Sorcerer offered them money in exchange for the power of the Holy Spirit. To him it was a business transaction, one that he was willing to exchange in for so many years. He would give money and the entity would give him power. But this is not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not an ice cream truck just dispensing goodies whenever we want. This is not a business transaction it is the power of the blood to break strongholds.
Peter rebuked him. Peter did not take his money, but rebuked him in the Spirit.
We must realize that the Holy Spirit is a freewill offering, and that in this freewill, he has already advocated on our behalf.
Christ was the perfect sacrifice. John said behold the lamb of God who takes away
the sin of the world. When John was a baby he was so happy that he jumped and shot a jump shot in Elizabeth’s womb. ???A spacecraft that is being made to go into space has to be made perfectly. All of the components have to fit together exactly, and not only that, it has to be programmed perfectly. There was a time that a Mars spacecraft was programmed in feet instead of meters and it crashed into Mars instead of landing on Mars. The Holy Spirit is our Airplane Pilot, Anointing and Attorney, and as a result he is the perfect Advocate for us. So call on God and be rest assured that when you do, you have God’s ear when you pray in the name of Jesus.
