The Spirit of Change - Mr. Bill Allen

Dear Black Man,

Today my heart is heavy at the passing of Bill Allen although we never met in life, I am very familiar with the New Black Wall Street Market, Stonecrest Georgia. Today I wanted to learn more about Mr. Allen who as recently as a few months ago was firmly at the helm. I came upon an almost hour-long interview conducted by his cousin. Mr. Allen was a remarkable man with strong beliefs and a desire to impact the lives of Black people. He felt challenged to not only talk about the problem facing Black people, but to address the problem. Many of you know the struggles currently facing The New Black Wall Street Market. There can be endless fingers pointed, but who will pick up the mantle and answer the call? ?I hope that leaders will emerge. Strong Black men and women working to fulfill Mr. Allen’s vision.

I hope that new visionaries will arise both young and old. He spoke about the decline in the “Village” mentality. We need to reactivate the spirit of true community. I work with a lot of men driven organizations my hope is that you can work with each other. I am going to leave that right there.

These last couple of weeks I have felt challenged by the work that I do. I was encouraged today by listening to Mr. Alan’s interview. He spoke about the courage it takes to do what others will not, to dream beyond possibility. To see light in places where there is utter darkness. This is the second time in as many weeks I have been challenged not to only be good, but to be great. I dare you to be the same!
