The Spiral Staircase
Ladders are primarily used to get from one point to another as easily as possible. Well they have been an essential piece of architecture in terms of construction since the days of Mesopotamia stretching as far back as 3000 BC. So over the years there has been evident progress and easier ways to travel upwards with the introduction of stair cases. Stair cases that are used on the exterior or interior come in all sorts of different designs, sizes, and are used literally everywhere; from a cargo ship to a library.
One of the most unique forms is the spiral stair design, a technique for improving the aesthetic design and saving space has done marvels for architecture as a whole. Spiral stair cases were introduced in Rome during the era of the Roman Empire in the year of 143 AD, long before the renaissance age. This first and initial project is known as Trajan’s column and is the oldest preserved spiral staircase in the world.
Unique Design and Construction works hard on bringing innovation to modern architecture and implicates the spiral stair design in some of its projects. Of course while following all of the US requirements and safety regulations such as slopes, minimum tread length, and other assurances for a safe and high quality product.
