Spinning Beach Ball of Death

The road to optimal well-being can be a crooked path. A second set of eyes can be just the ticket to identify the obstacles we put in our own path. I love working with people who are ready for their "next"!
It's official name: Spinning Wait Cursor.? Anyone who has a Mac will recognize this indication that your Mac cannot handle all the tasks it's been given.
I noticed this the other day when I had a WAY TOO BIG response to being asked to wait and be patient.? "OMG!!? Don't they know how much I have to do?"? Lucky I didn't say it out loud but I sure thought it!
Later, when I got my brain back, I had to reflect on my relationship with my schedule.? Sure I am busy and have a plan and things to accomplish.? What I have noticed, though, is that frantically pushing on something to stay on schedule rarely works.? If anything, it just makes things worse.
The gap between knowing and doing is worth studying.? I like to see it as a space of unrealized potential, a place of possibility, growth and expansion.? I am learning that is less about never getting knocked off center and more about recovering more and more quickly.? This is the practice.
Learning to find even a nano-second between a triggering experience and your response can make all the difference in the world. Perhaps there is more wisdom in "take a breath" than we realize!
