Have we found real spiders from Mars? The Mars Express orbiter imaged peculiar spider-like formations near Mars’ mysterious ‘Inca City’ region. The ‘Inca City’ was discovered in 1972 by NASA’s Mariner 9 probe. Its linear, geometric network of ridges resembles Inca ruins on Earth. However, the formation of Inca City remain a mystery.
Black, spider-like structures emerged, scattered across the Red Planet’s South Pole region, as the Martian spring approached after a severe winter.
We also take a further look to the stars at seven of the most chilling phenomena in space, from zombie stars to the boomerang nebula in our must read .
Weekly Must reads
Space is teeming with celestial wonders, some of which are breathtakingly beautiful and others that are scary. Our fear often stems from our limited understanding of cosmic phenomena.
The fear of the unknown is powerful. Dark matter, for example, is invisible to us, yet we can observe its effects, such as the formation of galaxy clusters.
Similarly, black holes have such a strong gravitational pull that even light can’t escape it, which means we don’t know what is “inside” it.
Here, we delve into seven of these unsettling cosmic entities or phenomena. (Read More )
