We are so happy to launch not simply a new Perfect Hideaways’ destination today, but a true destination hideaway. Villa Lali was lovingly crafted over many years, by a couple whose own love affair became inextricably linked with their love for Tanzania, and in particular the tropical island of Zanzibar. Created as a place of relaxation and playfulness to entice their hardworking, far-flung family to more frequently make space in their lives for some downtime and reconnection, Villa Lali has long achieved its goal. And that familial love is evident in the ambience of this beautiful home, in the comfort and generosity of the shared spaces, the restful bedrooms, and especially in the Villa Lali team, who themselves have clearly become extended family, adding humour and warmth to the excellent care they take of their guests.

Start your day with a hot brew on the broad shady stoep, maybe venturing to the deck for a sun salutation or two. Discuss your clan’s wishes for the days dining with the villa’s talented and jovial chef… naturally abundant fresh seafood features large, as do the island’s infamous spices ensuring each meal packs a flavourful punch.?

Set on the peaceful Matemwe beach, found on Zanzibar’s northeast coast, you’ll find taking long beach walks as the sun rises or sets just sublime. For the more active, fear not, there’s plenty to do here; a boat trip to Mnemba Island for diving or snorkelling, taking kiteboarding lessons, a dolphin tour, any water sport one can think of, or a day trip to the vibey, culturally rich Stone Town.
