You don’t have to necessarily apply for job posting on LinkedIn to get hired for a great position. And, you don’t have to spend the whole day hunched in front of the screen to achieve it either. Only 15 minutes a day on LinkedIn can get you amazing results for your job search.

Many job seekers use LinkedIn randomly, without having an actual game plan of what they want to achieve through the platform. You need to engage with your connections on LinkedIn to get seen. Did you know that avoiding engagement on LinkedIn will hamper your online job search? Take a few minutes a day to visit your LinkedIn homepage to see what your connections have posted. The best way to get seen by recruiters on LinkedIn is to comment, like, and share content related to your industry. You should also join conversations that are happening on the platform. Commenting on posts of your connections is a good way to increase your exposure.

How can you increase interview invites on LinkedIn?

You can effectively engage with your audience by sharing your insights, opinions, and experiences under a post shared by a connection. When you write a comment on a post by one of your connections, your comment will be seen by them, as well as their connections. While typing the actual comment takes you only one or two minutes, your comment will be out there for a longer time. Dedicate a few minutes every day to comment on three posts a day. Comment and like posts shared by the hiring manager. Read the articles they write. Over the course of a few days, your name will be familiar to them.

When you are a job seeker, you must be careful about what you post to the platform. Avoid sharing stuff that may be seen as controversial. Here are some ideas for your daily LinkedIn posts:

  • Write an article about a topic related to your job
  • Voice your opinion about an issue that is common in your industry
  • An award you earned
  • A recruiter’s post that is interesting
  • Create a poll about an interesting topic
  • Industry news
  • Write a small text about how you faced a challenge at work
