What's shocking...

Isn't the image in the middle of the 74 year old sedentary thigh.

It's how similar the 74 year old triathlete thigh looks to the 40 year old.

Which is a result of 'muscle mass'.

The reason the middle thigh looks like some kind of wagyu salami is due to a common problem that occurs after 30 for men.

Naturally, we start to lose muscle.

This is why people often say "Use it or lose it" - referring to muscle mass.

This is when Sarcopenia kicks in (aka. Age-related muscle loss).

Physically inactive people can lose as much as 3% to 5% of their muscle mass each decade after age 30.

So the obvious solution is to be 'more active'.

However, the key is to do the right activity.

Because if we're going to lose more muscle, then the obvious focus is to build and maintain 'more' muscle to stunt the decline.

And the best way to do that is not only focus only 'Slow twitch' muscle fibres... Which is prioritises for longer, low intensity cardio...

But to mainly prioritise 'Fast twitch' muscle fibres.

These fibres are larger and are used primarily in strength and shorter bursts of intense output.

Fast twitch fibres are larger fibres.

Think of an endurance runner vs. a sprinter

.An endurance runner is incredibly fit, yet looks closer to a skeleton than a man...

Yet a sprinter, who trains in shorter bursts, lifts heavier weights... Looks like a Greek god.

So this is why cardio is not the priority in my program...

And instead, each client's workout program is customised for 2-3 efficient workouts that are optimized Fast Twitch muscle fibres.

Because the more muscle we have, the more we maintain and slow down our aging process...

Plus there's a bonus metabolic effect. By maintain more muscle, it increases our BMR and helps protect against storing visceral fat (the bad kind) around our vital organs.

This means:

  • Healthy looking shape
  • Higher metabolism
  • Lower visceral fat
  • More muscle
  • More strength
  • Stability
  • Mobility

So if your current workout plan isn't optimized for fast twitch muscle, or you're not seeing the results you expected...

Might be time to try something new.
