Strategy and knowledge: meet Veruska Mazza Rodrigues Dias !

We have begun our expansion into Europe starting from Portugal, and to lead this strategic step, we sought someone with vision, market knowledge, and expertise in unmanned aircraft systems, our UAS. It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome Veruska Dias, who joins our team as Chief Strategy Officer.

To get to know Veruska Dias better and her vision for Speedbird Aero, we asked her some questions:

What are the main achievements and professional experiences you bring to Speedbird Aero?

I am an Aerospace Engineer, Researcher, and Professor of International Business Development with 14 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Half of that time has been dedicated to unmanned aerial systems and innovative air mobility. I bring to Speedbird Aero all my experience in R&D and product certification, as well as in business strategy and implementation of economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable services.

How do you see your role in Speedbird Aero's expansion strategy in the Europe?

As Chief Strategy Officer, I intend to develop a bold strategy for scaling Speedbird Aero's air logistics products and services - already commercially established in countries such as Brazil, Israel, Singapore, and Scotland - now in the EMEA and APAC markets, using the new hub in Portugal to efficiently provide technology, professional training, and operations.

What are your expectations regarding the challenges and opportunities that will arise in this new role?

My expectations are associated with disseminating all the existing know-how in Speedbird Aero to new markets such as EMEA and APAC, demonstrating through results the well-structured products and services of autonomous air logistics that the company can offer to different clients, meeting various demands such as those from the medical, utilities, oil and gas, telecom, among other industries.

What are the main success indicators you are monitoring to evaluate the progress of Speedbird Aero's expansion in the europe?

Our main indicators are the number of certified aircraft, implemented international commercial operations, users served by our services, and jobs generated globally.

What are the main challenges you anticipate in leading Speedbird Aero's expansion in Europe and how do you plan to overcome them?

One of the main challenges, in my opinion, is to provide in each new region the sustainable integration of Speedbird Aero's air logistics services with the existing multimodal mobility system. For this, we need to work in perfect synchrony with important stakeholders, such as CAAs, EASA, universities, users, cities, and the general public, to consolidate two main pillars: (1) harmonization regarding the certification of our products globally and (2) a social engagement process to promote a positive impact on the local economy, avoiding issues such as structural unemployment and creating opportunities, such as professional qualification for emerging technological areas.
