Happy to present excerpts from a discussion between a senior Management Trustee of a popular educational institution from Pune, India (name withheld for confidentiality reasons) and Mr. Suhas Mohol , our Managing Director, to discuss the growing trend of precast technology in school construction.? Learn how precast technology offers a winning combination of speed, safety, efficiency, and sustainability for the future of our educational institutions.

Trustee: Good afternoon, sir. It’s a pleasure having you here. I’ll get straight to the point. We've noticed a lot of schools talking about precast construction lately. Is there a reason why precast seems to be the new go-to option for building schools?"
Suhas Mohol: Great question! There are many reasons schools are switching from traditional methods to precast technology. But the biggest incentive is the speed of construction. Schools want to get up and running ASAP, and precast lets them do that.
Trustee: Interesting. How does precast speed things up?
Suhas Mohol: It's all about parallel processing. With traditional methods, everything happens on-site, one step at a time. In precast technology, you manufacture building elements off-site while prepping the land. This cuts down on the total construction time significantly.
Trustee: Understood. But what about the safety of such an assembled structure? Schools need to be strong and secure for the kids.
Suhas Mohol: Absolutely! Safety comes first for any building structure and not just schools. Precast concrete is incredibly strong and can handle storms, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. Plus, precast structures require less maintenance over time, saving money in the long run.
Trustee: Good to hear about the safety part, and lower maintenance cost is a major advantage. Any other benefits?
Suhas Mohol: Yes, energy savings. Precast concrete helps regulate indoor temperatures thanks to its thermal mass. This means less blasting of the AC in summer. For colder regions, it means less cranking up the heat in winter. For extreme climate regions, precast walls can be built with insulation sandwiched between concrete layers, making them even more energy efficient.

Trustee: So, does that automatically mean better sound insulation as well?
Suhas Mohol: Yes! Precast walls and floors are great at blocking out noise, creating a calmer learning environment for students.
Trustee: That's fantastic! But for something manufactured in a factory and assembled on site, won’t we be looking at boring box-type structures?
Suhas Mohol: Not at all! Modern precast offers a wide range of finishes, colors, and textures. Architects can design beautiful and inspiring educational spaces.
Trustee:?Sustainability is the big buzzword these days. What about that?
Suhas Mohol: Precast is a friend to the environment. The manufacturing process is efficient, there's less waste, and the materials are super durable, reducing the need for repairs and replacements.
Trustee: Wow, precast sounds like a game-changer for school construction! Have you designed any schools in precast?
Suhas Mohol: It is definitely a game-changer! With all these advantages, we can expect to see even more schools built with precast technology. Yes, we did the Harrison Elementary School in the USA for one of our clients a couple of years back. At present we’re working on a large school for a client in Saudi Arabia. The school is a part of a mega township. We’re seeing a lot of interest in precast for school construction in India as well.
Trustee: Thank you, sir, for visiting our office and explaining this interesting concept.
Suhas Mohol: My pleasure and thank you for the excellent coffee! Let's hope there's a new school on the horizon – precast would be a perfect fit! "
