Speed over Perfection ?

There are times when we decide to wait for the right time to start something. Be it starting a new hobby, taking a new course, completing a book or work on that beautiful start-up idea. The reason always being that this is not the right time, or I am not ready for it or, wait till the product is perfect. The truth is perfection is a process and cannot be achieved in one go.

Unless and until you go out and implement, there is no better way to achieve perfection.

 “The Minimum Viable Product - MVP”

In the technology space, product managers/developers often use MVP to test their new ideas. This saves lots of resources and helps them perfect their product through real time feedback from real customers.

Don’t confuse MVP with a beta or pilot version of the product, rather it’s the complete product in its full essence. It’s just that the implementation is in its bare minimum form and the intent is to test the product market fit. So, when the product manager wants to know whether his/her latest idea will click with consumer, and they don’t have the time and resources to build the full features, well MVP is to the rescue!

I am simply extending the concept of MVP to every other aspect of our life. MVP epitomises the fact that in life we are always constrained and short of resources. So, the best way to do something is? simply start doing it!
