Speculating with Starling

Meet Jacob. Jacob joined the ONS Talent Acquisition team back in September this year. He is a proud Dad and George Michael wannabe (read below for further information on this statement!!) With lots of previous recruitment experience and a questionable witty sense of humour Jacob has fitted in well and my team are wax lyrical about the work he is doing on their vacancies- so I'm happy he's here too!

Decisively indecisive and a Southampton FC fan (hmmm) this catch up was going to be interesting..........................

Me: Who is your favourite cartoon character?

Jacob: Scooby Doo

Me: If you were a biscuit what would you be and why?

(Stage Direction: lots of pausing and thinking going on here!)

Jacob: A jammy dodger. No justification. I'm an enigma. Oh maybe because there's a heart in the middle of the biscuit.

Me: What's your favourite TV programme?

(Stage Direction: lots of pausing and thinking going on here!)

Jacob: I'm not good at favourites. I do like the US Office and I've been watching some old episodes of Miss Marple recently.

Me: What is one of your pet peeves?

Jacob: I'm the spelling and grammar police. Rogue apostrophes upset me.

Me: If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

Jacob: Sat right here in the Titchfield office.

(Stage Direction: cheesy but he's dedicated!)

Me: If you were a potato, how would you like to be cooked?

Jacob. I saw Ashleigh's response to this question and can't say that. I'd quite like a potato powered clock. If you're making me choose though probably just roasted.

Me: If you could audition for a talent show what song would you sing and why?

Jacob: Careless Whisper by George Michael. I mean what else would you pick? I have a strong affinity to this song. I feel like if I was driven to a surprise studio and asked to perform it I would be ready.

Me: If you had a superpower what would it be?

Jacob: Time travel. I'd find it intriguing to stop and go in any direction.

Me: Cats or Dogs?

Jacob: Dogs. I'm allergic to cats.

Me: What's one characteristic you admire in others?

Jacob: Purity of intentions.

Given his indecisiveness Jacob managed to choose us as an employer so he's done well there and we are very lucky to have him (cat hating aside!)
