1. Australian Bureau of Statistics ABS Building Approvals News just in. The ABS are planning to release building approval data at SA1 level from 2024 via their?TableBuilder ?offering.?

This will help us map high growth areas for building products and future land developments. It would also he helpful for childcare services and schools which will inevitably follow the construction of new housing, possibly within a two – 10 year range.

Previously we were only able to see this data at Statistical Area 2 (SA2) level, and now it will be distributed down to the 57,000 Standard Areas 1 (SA1’s) across Australia.

3. Australian Bureau of Statistics ABS Business Count Data The ABS is planning to release the latest business count data at the small area SA1 level in December 2023.?It will provide a snapshot of actively trading businesses as of the 30th June 2023 from the Australian Bureau of Statistics Business Register (ABSBR) and the Australian Tax Office (ATO).?

Up until now, the business count data published by the ABS was only available at the SA2 level and we produced estimates for?SA1 level by using SA2 data and a disaggregation methodology.

Businesses are categorized Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) type and size.

The size categories are: – Non employing businesses – 1 – 4 employees – 5 – 19 employees – 20 – 199 employees – 200+ employees

If you are a B2B enterprise, or a large a proportion of your customers are located in or near their workplace, then this data is essential to any marketing, territory planning, strategic network planning or business intelligence activities.
