The Spectacled Bear

High up in the Andes lives the Spectacled Bear

Making his way down the steep ravines

To an oasis in the centre - fit for dreams

A shy and solitary Soul 

Whose spirited and free 

Enjoying his own company 

A paradise of life - with all creatures great and small

Attracted to the flora and fauna - that surrounds the watering hole

Birds singing in the greenery within this mini scene 

The soothing sound of the fresh spring

It's own unique calling 

A place for wildlife to meet and greet

To drink the spring an appetising treat

It trickles and shimmers away

As it catches the light of day 

Away from the desert and the heat wave

And into the welcome shade of the trees

The Spectacled Bear takes a refreshing swim

His own spa day 

Fit for a king

Soon 

A much larger bear grumbles and heads his way

Spectacled Bear wants to live - to fight another day

So departing the oasis he heads back to his den - a platform way up high

Where he can survey his territory 

His island in the sky

Shadows in the forest 

Indeed - this is no friend 

Sensing danger

He flees quicker - than the count of ten 

An uphill climb he knows the way

His instincts lead him on

On a wing and a prayer - this is his lucky day

Feeling safer knowing - he managed to get away

Edging closer to his roots where he can rest and sleep 

Grazing upon grass and shoots

Delicious and sweet 

Rejuvenation for a new born day and opportunities renewed 

Whilst he dreams of honey and the healing springs

Back safe amongst the clouds where his heart sings xx
